What customers say

This park is in a prime location near West Bay's harbor and beach. Staff are frequently praised for being friendly and helpful. While facilities are generally clean, some guests found them dated. Families loved the entertainment and activities. Pitches are often spacious with great views, though some had issues with wet conditions and Wi-Fi.

Liked The campsite was nice & welcoming staff friendly. We loved the fact that the campsite was right in the centre of West Bay

Disliked Although the showers were clean. I was quite dismayed by the cleanliness of the ladies toilets. The Friday night, one of the toilets was quite dirty with faeces, so I went to use the one next door to it, which had a ‘nugget’ of faeces on the floor.
On going in to shower the next morning, the floor was being washed, but it seemed that she was just mopping bits of tissue & other bits etc around the floor. It didn’t seem like it had been brushed first & when I went into the toilets, they had been mopped, but still in the same state as the previous evening.

Liked Nice staff ,

Disliked Shower where ok but mybe a stool or bigger space would help with drying yourself, and sadly wasn’t able to enjoy the night entertainment as dogs where not allowed in the entertainment area which I found a bit upsetting and it said dog where allowed in the club that was one of the reasons I chose to stay with you

Liked The location. West Bay is a lovely place. The campsite staff who were very helpful.

Disliked The facilities are dated, breaking down and shockingly bad for the price of this park. Toilets out of order all the time. Others move as you sit, with inches of caulk on them. Playing find the soap with the dispenser. Hairdryers - one broken beyond use, one held together with duct tape!! Obvious black mould in every rim and corner. It was, for the price, very bad.

Liked Close to the sea. Camping pitches were well cared for. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Disliked Staff worked well to keep the gents & ladies toilets clean, but we felt sorry for them because it seemed the visitors worked hard to destroy the cleaners hard work and disrupt proceedings. It’s a sign of the times when parents can’t control their children.

Local attractions

Start on the doorstep in West Bay itself: you could go fossil hunting underneath the sandstone cliffs, crabbing in the harbour, take a boat tour of the Jurassic Coast, or head out into the big blue yonder on a sea fishing trip; then there’s golf, paragliding, scuba diving, watersports, and excellent walking along the coastal paths… Take a break from feeding yourself up on all the gorgeous local produce to hand feed the birds at Abbotsbury Swannery, where the 600 nesting mute swans make for an impressive sight (and plenty of hungry beaks); there are also award-winning gardens and a kids' farm to explore. The coastal resort of Lyme Regis has been drawing the crowds since time immemorial and is well worth a visit; other historical gems in West Dorset include the Jacobean manor house of Mapperton, set amongst topiary, terraced gardens and rolling hills; Forde Abbey and gardens; a cluster of castles; and the giant chalk man in the hillside at Cerne Abbas. Alternatively, if there are animal addicts in your party, they'll go ape for the 240-plus inhabitants of Monkey World and potty for the penguins and underwater specimens at Weymouth Sea Life Park.
