Electric camping pitch - tencreek holiday park

  • Lively family park five minutes' drive from the coast at Looe
  • Huge range of facilities including cabaret room, bar, diner and café
  • Indoor pool, toddlers' pool, swim lessons, sports room and shop
‘We’re all going on a summer holiday…’ And a spring, autumn and, er, winter one too… At Tencreek Holiday Park, the nearest park to lovely Looe in Cornwall, you and the family can arrive in all seasons as a base for the best of south-east Cornwall and Devon, or just stay on site to spoil yourselves silly with the lashings of facilities and entertainment for all ages. And the views are pretty tenfastic too… Tencreek is aimed at families and couples, and as such has any number of tiptop things to try: a kids’ club just for starters, and an adventure playground and sports pitch for small sorts to whirl around outside. More grownuply, the park also has the Castaway entertainment complex with large cabaret room, bar, Deano’s Diner and indoor sports room with darts and pool; there's also family entertainment every night from the Yellow Coats and Tencreek mascots. Don’t forget the dog either: the park is dog friendly and has a dog walking area with access to the public footpath. If it rains, the kids won’t even notice once you get them to the heated indoor pool and toddlers’ pool, which are also open all year and free to use (there are classes such as Aquafit and kids’ swimming lessons available at a small additional charge). The thoughtful folk at Tencreek have ensured that the pool is always lifeguarded, and there are even adults-only sessions at times, if you can manage to get the kids dried off and packed off for a bit… The park also has a fully-stocked food shop, a café with takeaway and a modern laundry.

What customers say

Great location with sea views and easy access to Looe and coastal paths. Clean facilities, though water pressure/temp sometimes an issue. Pool, shop & entertainment popular with families. Friendly staff and good value noted, but muddy pitches in wet weather and pricey Wi-Fi mentioned.

Liked Everything was very clean. It was ideal location to Looe and the surrounding south coast path. Facilities very good. Reasonably sized pitch. Enough space for car and to sit out by the tent. Club house was nice, modern and clean. Enough for a short stay.

Disliked Proximity of the electric hook up. If you didn't have a long lead from hook up to your pitch it could have been a problem. However it wasn't so much for us.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Clean toilets and shower facilities.

Disliked Very pricey. Pool had very limited opening times and was not able to be used when not registered for specific time. Booked this place to use the pool, however when we arrived we were told pool is not usable. No (partly) refund option was possible. Traveled further since we did not liked the holiday resort flair.

Liked Lovely pitch and great location being so close to some beautiful towns.
Food at the restaurant was brilliant the site was well laid out also.

Disliked Swimming pool felt unclean, could do with a refurb as was very outdated and dull. Was a let down as booked for use of indoor pool. No WiFi on site, you can purchase 24 hours for £6 however the signal is really poor.

Bike N Hike primitive grass tent campsite (two person, no cars)

Liked Relative location to the South West Coast Path from Talland Bay.
Hit showers
Shop (open until 9pm)
Enough segregation from families with children and pitch up tents.
Well managed with good faculties

Disliked I was there to briefly to make an overlay impression..but the lack of a drinking water faucet was a small annoyance.

Local attractions

Oodles of activities and attractions await once you’ve dragged yourself off site: pootle around Looe’s Harbour Quay, Banjo Pier and the 16th-century Old Guildhall in East Looe, or take a boat to Looe (St George’s) Island, where just once a year on a very low tide it’s possible to stroll to it across the sand. Sea-based sightseers can go from Looe to Fowey and take the ferry to Polruan or Bodinnick and the former house of Daphne du Maurier (Daphne and Rebecca fans can also go ghost hunting at Cornwall’s legendary coaching house at Bodmin Moor, said to be the county’s most famous smuggling inn). Most day trippers take a car for the 12-mile Looe-Fowey journey, but if you’re feeling energetic enough and want to see some stunning coastal scenery, the local South West Coast Path hike goes from West Looe to Polruan via Hannafore, Talland Bay and Polperro. You officially have full permission to get a bus or taxi back…
