What a lovely Lincolnshire location this is – dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park’s location on the banks of the Witham river is a mighty scenic place to spend a bit of time… You’re on holiday, so you’d be quite justified in deciding to settle down right there by the river for lengthy periods in the company of a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has one mile of fishing along the river Witham, all set just 20 metres from the pitches. The on-site fishing is known for tench, carp and big bream weighing up to seven kilograms, as well as its fortnightly competitions. A modern gym is on-hand for those times when you feel like fitting in a good workout. For families, there’s a playground as well as an indoor pool (open during high season only) where they can play about whatever the weather. If they (or you) are plane fans, they may like to know that RAF Conningsby is a short distance away with a World War II museum. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week) but settle down for your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the on-site pub and restaurant is likely to be your go-to. Serving up homecooked food, it has a beer garden overlooking the river along with local entertainment such as singers, bingo and karaoke. On Saturdays and Sundays, it serves a full English breakfast, and on Sundays, there is a Sunday roast up for grabs. It also has a kids' menu. For out-and-about times, local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

Liked Lovely site, nice quiet location with a bar and really tasty food. The facilities are clean. Very friendly atmosphere and staff are very friendly .There's a nice relaxing walk along the river from the campsite. The site is Really good value for money.Good sized hard standing pitch with EHU. There is WiFi within the bar area. Theres Also a clubhouse room where they do entertainment. We enjoyed our 2 night weekend stay. it had everything we needed for our stay to be as chilled as we wanted.

Camping pod

Liked Clean, tidy pods for just £20 a night. Pod had a fridge, kettle, toaster and a heater. Great club house / bar on site which did a bargain sirloin steak which was absolutely banging. Drinks reasonable price and had a fun time at the bar which was open until late. All staff were welcoming, as were other people staying there. Very dog friendly site - dogs are welcome everywhere including the bar. Will be retuning soon for another fun weekend!

Liked The area by the river was peaceful. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The pitches were level and had just enough space to make it private. The residents were like a family and were welcoming to. The bar was a warm, welcoming space out of the autumn weather especially during happy hour! WiFi was also available in the bar on request and free.

Disliked The shower and toilet block were basic. No hot water at the sinks and the one hand dryer was weak, it was quicker blowing them yourself! It was difficult to find drinking water and wasn't impressed that the washing up area was next to the elson point.

Liked Friendly and welcoming. Good pitch with the bonus of a tap. Great Club House offering reasonable drink prices and superb meals. We ate on the Friday Steak night and Sunday lunch.

Disliked Poor facilities for elsan disposal. I understand it was temporary but didn’t have a hose to rinse the container. This area in particular is very untidy. Not sure how toilet facilities are monitored but on Monday morning there were no toilet rolls and often no soap.

Liked We had a really lovely stay. The location is perfect & very peaceful with lovely strolls along the river & a great free air show, lasting virtually all day! Staff were friendly and welcoming & the owner, Phil, went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He has a lovely Black Lab, who enjoyed making friends with ours.
The bar serves lovely home cooked food & are of very generous sizes!
We will definitely be returning again soon as Cooper is missing his mate Bosco! 😜

Liked Very friendly welcome lovely location next to the river. Pod is well equipped with a kettle and toaster and fridge. Excellent value for mony would happily return

Disliked The toilet block is in need of some tlc. We went to the toilet late at night and couldn't find any toilet roll in any of the toilets. So might want to bring your own just incase. Still would vist again

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance to get a bit of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre. Take off to Tattershall (around 10 minutes’ drive) for a wander around Tattershall Castle – a proper textbook castle with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from tiddlers (and quite probably their elders too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll likely feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 here, and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
