  • Scenic park on the river Witham, 10 minutes' drive from Tattershall
  • A 35-minute drive from Lincoln and 15 from Tattershall Farm Park
  • Playground, river fishing, waterside walks and pub-restaurant on site
What a lovely Lincolnshire location this is – dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park’s location on the banks of the Witham river is a mighty scenic place to spend a bit of time… You’re on holiday, so you’d be quite justified in deciding to settle down right there by the river for lengthy periods in the company of a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has one mile of fishing along the river Witham, all set just 20 metres from the pitches. The on-site fishing is known for tench, carp and big bream weighing up to seven kilograms, as well as its fortnightly competitions. A modern gym is on-hand for those times when you feel like fitting in a good workout. For families, there’s a playground as well as an indoor pool (open during high season only) where they can play about whatever the weather. If they (or you) are plane fans, they may like to know that RAF Conningsby is a short distance away with a World War II museum. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week) but settle down for your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the on-site pub and restaurant is likely to be your go-to. Serving up homecooked food, it has a beer garden overlooking the river along with local entertainment such as singers, bingo and karaoke. On Saturdays and Sundays, it serves a full English breakfast, and on Sundays, there is a Sunday roast up for grabs. It also has a kids' menu. For out-and-about times, local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

What customers say

A friendly, clean campsite by River Witham, great for RAF Coningsby. Staff and owner Phil are praised. Pods are well-equipped, good value. Enjoyed the bar, entertainment, play area. Pool's chilly. Toilets sometimes short on supplies, some facilities dated. Many keen to return.

Camping pod

Liked Good location next to raf coningsby

Disliked We have stayed here before and booked again. Due to life events We had to ring the day before to ask for another date and was told on the phone there was only available in september to ammend our booking which was fine. We then sent a message describing everything and did not receive no correspondence back at all like been ignored. We lost our money. We will definitley not be returning/staying here again. Plenty more beautiful pods with better customer service. 1 * for losing our money and not responding to our messages.

Camping pod

Liked We had a lovely time here. Had visited before but with motor home years ago, had a camping pod this time and it was lovely. We brought the dog with us too which was lovely with the decking area, we just put a stair gate up for him. Pods were good size and the fridge and electric was lovely. We have already booked to come again after just getting home. Staff are so friendly. Great place for seeing all the planes

Liked Friendly, welcoming, inviting people both staff and long term guests and dogs; they made our stay. Some also have roles at the club and they help each other out so the whole place had a sense of community.
For a small site it had a lot of facilities.
Prices in the bar area were low with lots of choice.
The food served was lovely and great value at about £10 for a full plate.
Swimming pool at a site this small if fabulous.
Pitches were flat and well cared for.
Roads had been recently done.
The huts looked great and good value for money.
Wifi in the bar areas.
Woodall Spa and Tattershall Castle nearby; you need a car for this area.

Disliked Not really dislikes but worth mentioning for others.
The swimming pool is NOT heated
Children were unsupervised in the pool.
WiFi was not consistent in the club area.
Not an issue for us but phone signal was limited, I’m glad we didn’t bring our teen.
Some tidying up required near the showers.
We would have liked to be able to control the temperature of the showers.
If we were staying longer a laundry area would be good.
People stole the toilet roll, take your own if you’re touring or in the huts.
Shop never seemed to open and there was no laundry area.

Camping pod

Liked Good sized pods. Included a fridge which was a bonus. All facilities were clean. Direct access to river walk.

Disliked Pods are too close together for my liking.
We stayed in July and the river wasn't a pretty sight. It was green as far as the eye could see. No movement. Looked pretty grim.

From the manager: Good morning thank you for your review we the riverview team take our reviews very seriously and ack were we can

But I very sorry for the weed on the river and beleave me if I could change this I would
We been told by the river board it's due to the lack of rain

But my godly powers don't go that far

The river is controlled be the sluise gate at Boston

With the lack of water the gates have been closed for some time stopping the natual flow of the river

Your comments saying the pods are to close together is absolutely rediculas

Out 300 previous reviews never been mentioned before

Hence we standing 2nd place out of 360 other touring and carivan parks in Lincolnshire

I understand if we have done something wrong

On you individual scoring you makes us
7 to 9 points so why have you given us 6 points

The river ???

As we said before if I could change the river

I would

Thank you
Phil tobin

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance to get a bit of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre. Take off to Tattershall (around 10 minutes’ drive) for a wander around Tattershall Castle – a proper textbook castle with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from tiddlers (and quite probably their elders too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll likely feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 here, and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
