What customers say
Rowter Farm gets rave reviews for its stunning location, perfect for hiking with direct access to Mam Tor and Castleton. Campers love the friendly vibe, great value, and handy shop/food truck. It's a working farm campsite, basic but clean and sufficient for most. A few guests mentioned noise and limited showers, but these didn't spoil the generally positive stays.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Location was great, close to toilets and washing up room, lovely atmosphere, safe for kids, good value, great that they serve hot food and have a shop.
Disliked Some neighbouring campers completely ignored the 10pm noise curfew Fro night and carried on playing music etc.
Needed £1 coins for shower.

Brilliant campsite, could not recommend enough
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Everything. Site had everything you need. Clean showers, toilets and facilities. Farm shop had all essentials and cam in handy. Straight onto fields with many options of hike. Tina the Jack Russell made my 2 year old sons trip, he was utterly obsessed with her. What a gorgeous addition to the farm she is.
Disliked Nothing

Overall, it’s a nice campsite and I will definitely go again.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked This campsite is great. Plenty of space for many campers, good surroundings and scenery. Nice little food hut with pizza and jackets and a shop too.
Disliked The shower, I’m sure this is mentioned by others but one shower for ladies, is a little bother and the shower just was backing up with water. So the feet didn’t feel clean. There was a long queue for it, but it was sunny for one day so wasn’t too bad but the next day was raining so queuing for it wasn’t great.

Great campsite, fab location! Easy access to lots of places!
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Freedom to pitch wherever you like in the field. Facilities were good. Toilets clean, plenty of hot water. Small shop and fresh eggs. Pizza and potato van in evening and for breakfast. No noise after 10pm enforced. Owner responsive to any problems.
Disliked Only one female and one male shower so can be a long wait.

Lovely site...some terrible guests
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Location was fantastic for walks and the campsite was a nice level field with some shelter pitches under the trees.
Disliked Toilet and shower facilities are in need of updating but adequate. Little shop was decent and Pizza van was good
Rowdy guests on site (obviously not the fault of the owners), had to ring the contact number to ask them to come and deal with the group causing an issue which they did but the noise started up again not long after, campsite owner did apologise this morning for the disruption which absolutly was not their fault and it turned out the group had not even booked and paid for a pitch!
Dog owners not watching their dogs and letting them just do what they want.
All in all the site is great and i would stay again bit unfortunatly the lack of respect from certain groups of campers with noise, loud music and swearing did disrupt our stay.

Great price and location, with all…
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Great price and location, with all of the facilities that I needed. It was not crowded and no issues from fellow campers (vans, tents, young, older, families)
Disliked No fault whatsoever of the owners, but I feel the fellow campers should make more effort to tidy up the communal areas after they have used them (washup area, showers). Perhaps the owners should put up appropriate signage?
