  • Well-kept family site in the Peak District National Park’s Hope Valley
  • Pennine Way start 15 minutes’ drive; Chatsworth House half an hour
  • Peaceful tree-shaded pitches with superb modern facilities and a shop
Set in Derbyshire’s Peak District National Park, Hope Valley Holidays opened for the first time in 2026. It has an excellent location between the villages of Hope and Bamford in the lush Hope Valley, with easy access to the Castleton caves and climbing at Mam Tor, Stanage Edge and Kinder Scout all within 25 minutes’ drive. The site has pitches across several peaceful and tree-lined fields, with oh-so-smart heated shower and washroom facilities dotted strategically around the place, and a small shop selling essentials. The owners have put the natural environment at the centre of everything they do; there are wildflower borders around every field, and the mature woodland surrounding the site is awash with wildflowers in spring and summer. Numerous birds and animals visit too, and a quiet hour spent on your pitch may well reveal the wildlife that shares your space. Barbecues are welcome on the grassy pitches, but those who fancy sampling the Derbyshire gourmet scene can head to a pub about five minutes’ away on foot. Easy meals? A takeaway in Hope (25 minutes’ walk) will also deliver to your pitch. There are numerous cafés, bars and restaurants in postcard-pretty Hathersage (five minutes’ drive), and a well-known fine-dining pub around 10 minutes away by car.

What customers say

Spacious, well-kept Peak District campsite loved for friendly owners, clean facilities, and great games room. Ideal for families exploring local walks. Some guests noted train/road noise & occasional water pressure/hot water issues during busy times. New facilities planned.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Gill and Andy made us feel very welcome and ensured that we knew our way about the large site with many perfect camping pitches as well as giving us tips on good places to visit and where to go to eat. The site is clean and very well maintained and, though some reviewers have mentioned it's close proximity to a railway line we had absolutely no problem even though we chose to camp near it. We don't think that there could be a better camping location in the Peak District. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Disliked Other commitments meant that we couldn't stay longer.

Liked Lovely place. Flat and loads of space. Sinks toilets showers all provided and not far at all from the camp site. Lovely people happy to help if needed and also hires out fire pits. Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Lovely place to be. The family field felt very safe and the kids loved the space and the freedom. My kids love trains and they really enjoyed being able to do some transporting while they played badminton!
Toilets and facilities were clean and well presented. We hired a fire pit which was good value- remember your marshmallows!

Disliked The water situations regarding the pressure was a bit annoying but I didn’t take a shower as we weren’t there long. Water was a bit cold when washing up but again- it didn’t really matter as we weren’t heading home and I clean stuff well before putting it away.
