Tyckte om Campsite was amazing had everything you could need. Toilets and showers were very clean. Games room had fridges and freezers and places to charge phones as well as games such as pool and ping pong

Tyckte om Absolutely fantastic campsite, the site itself is beautiful and really well located for local walks, toilet and shower facilities were spotless, we hired one of their fire pits for a night. my favourite part was the games room, it had fridges and a kettle aswell as dart board, pool table, air hockey, table football, table tennis and a cupboard of board games, staff were very friendly and site was quiet and peaceful

Tyckte om Friendly and welcoming with loads of room on the site. Toilets and showers were clean and warm (building is heated). Bonus of hairdryers in the women’s aswell.
Gill met us at the car park as we arrived after office hours and showed us around the site and gave us the choice of where we pitched. There was loads of space to pitch and the site was quiet and really well maintained.

Tyckte om Had lots of space over a few different areas for pitches. All very well kept and never too far from facilities.

Location of the site itself is really central to the peaks, so great access to nearby villages, hiking trails and amenities. Close by to some great walks up to Ladybower Reservoir.

The owners, Gill and Andy, were very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Also had a warm welcome from the on-site wardens (3 very friendly dogs & a cat). They were accommodating with my motorcycle and gave me a good spot to park up.

Facilities are well kept, modern and clean. Showers in the block are great, not those push button ones that time out. Games room, place to charge devices and access to fridges and freezers are good additions and helped me over the week.

Tyckte inte om The drying room and shop were out of action for my stay due to a recent water leak, but I was told ahead of time and it didn’t affect my week.

The train line behind the site was a bit noisy on the bank holiday Monday, however rest of the week I barely noticed it.

Tyckte om Large spacious pitch with nice surroundings in a good location. Walks and cycle routes from the campsite. Good amenities and an indoor games room that included pool, table football, table tennis & darts.

Tyckte inte om A couple improvements worth mentioning: Electric showers in the woman's restroom as the showers were cold but the mens had electric showers that were lovely & warm.
A shower curtain & bench in the cubicle to stop the spray wetting all your clothes/shoes.
Hooks by the sinks to hang your things.
Drinking water taps dotted around.

Tyckte om Location was good and it’s very convenient, most of the grounds are big and well maintained overall had a great nights stay.

Tyckte inte om Next to where we had to camp there was a load of dumped cardboard amongst what looked like branches from trees, pitch up says “ shower and washroom facilities dotted strategically around the place”

There’s 1 shower bock for men there are 2 toilets and 2 showers and there not dotted strategically around the place. Girls have double the toilets and shower.

We were limited to where we could pitch because we were in a roof tent and this was the furthest away from the 1 toilet block. The signs from the road are not clear and we ended up driving towards the exit. By the time you see the small no entry sign it was too late. So had no option but the drive in to turn around. This was greeted by a guy throwing his arms up in the air with disproof I think he was the owner maybe as the same guy the patrolled the lower rood driving a grey van back and forward witch was very strange.. there’s a block at the back off us where 2 white t5 vans where who decided at 12am to have a rap contest until 1am so sleep wasn’t the best.

We are pleased that overall you had a great nights stay.

Your comments though are quite the opposite of all of our other guests and their reviews.

To note, the vast majority of our guests have scored us 10/10.


In terms of where you pitched. Despite being the last booking to arrive on the Sunday of a busy bank holiday and we offered you 2 areas with lots of space to pitch in. The area you chose had over an acre of available space, and you chose to pitch in a corner next to the bonfire pile.
We always strive to accommodate special requests, and had we have known in advance that you needed to be nearer to the toilet block we would have happily reserved you a pitch closer to them.


The shower and toilet block was built by the Girl Guides (pervious custodians of the site), which is why where there are more female than male units. We did though have the large family wet-room (toilet/sink/shower/baby-change), as well as an extra shower wet-room open for anyone to use.
To note, we do have over double the facilities opening soon (currently closed due the building they are in being damaged by an escape of water, the insurers are working on making the building and facilities fit to open again)
We closely manage booking numbers to ensure we are well within the HSE toilet to guest ratios, and we keep the facilities spotless.

You did drive onto the site through the wrong gates, which no-one else has done. We pointed you to use the correct gates as we operate a one way system for safety, and you stated shouting.

The grey van you mention is our site vehicle and was out on site doing site maintenance.

Our T&C's are strict, we are a family orientated no-nonsense site with quiet time from 10pm to 7am, the noise at 12.00 was quickly dealt with.

All our other guests over the bank holiday have provided fantastic feedback both directly to us and via Pitch-Up. We continue to operate our excellent site, facilities with welcoming customer service to the visitors of the Peak District.
