Sail into summer with a visit to the Southampton International Boat Show. The UK’s largest maritime festival, this family-friendly event displays everything from kayaks and catamarans to stand-up paddleboards and superyachts. You’ll come across stalls, experiences and workshops on land and in Europe’s biggest purpose-built marina, all centred around Mayflower Park.
Instead of overnighting in the busy city while the festival is on, check out campsites near the Southampton Boat Show. There are lakeside pitches for water enthusiasts, as well as coastal parks overlooking the Solent’s shimmering waters. Alternatively, mix things up with an inland stay in the postcard-worthy South Downs or New Forest.
