If you were checking out the Czech Republic, what might you first decide to see? Prague, we reckon – and how tasteful of you too. Moving on – eventually – Czech Republic campsites can have you among the hills, low mountains and forests of the country's diverse landscape, and close to castles and châteaux, medieval towns, ski resorts and many a place to pick up elaborately decorated Bohemian glass.
Outdoor and family? Tackle hiking and cycling in the protected areas of Bohemian Paradise or Český ráj, Šumava and the country's four national parks (the mountains of Krkonoše; the sandstone rocks and gorges of Czech Switzerland; the wildlife watching of Podyjí,and the ski slopes and forests of Šumava, stretching across the border to Bavaria's Black Forest). If you're camping in the Czech Republic with the kids, Čestlice's Aquapalace Prague is the biggest waterpark in central Europe.
Drink? The Czech Republic's thirsty citizens guzzle more beer per person than anywhere else in the world, so you'll find pubs, inns and likely a beer festival or two wherever you end up.
