What a splendid Lincolnshire location this is – with easy access to the pitches on tarmac roads, dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park sits on the banks of the River Witham. You’re on holiday, so you’re justified in settling down by the water for lengthy periods with a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has a mile of fishing along the river, just 20 metres from the pitches – it’s good for tench, carp and bream. Keen to stay active? Lucky then that there’s a gym so you can fit in a good workout. Families can also amuse themselves at the playground and indoor pool (open during high season). If you are plane fans, RAF Conningsby and its World War II museum are 15 minutes’ drive away. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week), but regard it as your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the recently updated pub and restaurant has a beer garden overlooking the river. Every Friday night is happy hour between 5pm–7pm, and there are food offers on Saturday evenings as well as karaoke and bingo in the entertainment lounge. On Sundays, there’s a full carvery from 12pm until late. Local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car, and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

  • The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

  • The indoor swimming pool is open between 01/05 and 31/08.

Admission

  • Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
  • The bar and restaurant are open Wednesday to Sunday and on bank holidays.

Liked The sign to the park was easy to see. The hard standing pitches were good. The electric hook ups easy to use.

Disliked Signs to direct us into campsite were confusing to which right turn should we choose. No one in reception. Had to look for someone in the rain. Shower block needs maintenance as some showers and toilets were out of use.

Liked Fantastic Location. Bar manager, very friendly and helpful where he could, although not his job.

Disliked Manager sacked days before we arrived. No one to book us in. Half the pitches had no electric working. Another camper had to show us which were working. Showers had doors not shutting and no hot water and mouldy
Bins overflowing. No water to clean T Elsan point. Water standpipes dirty hoses hanging off. Luckily we were self contained but had paid for facilities.

Recommend to friends Visit again

Maybe when improvements are made it would be worth booking.

Liked Quiet location. Met the new manager, only been on 6 weeks and is looking to make a lot of changes and improvements.

Disliked Paid £35 and the only real facility we used was a working toilet. Cold showers, doors that don’t lock, generally an overall run-down feeling to the place. The only other ‘campers’ appeared to be long term pitches, which made it feel more like a travellers site than a campsite.

Liked Welcoming site with good facilities, I always stay here when in the area, because of the good location, clean facilities and an excellent welcoming bar on site. Highly recommended

Disliked No restaurant open and was not informed until we arrived. Only one shower working and was cold. No not water at all. No tap near to chemical toilet to rinse. Washing up was right next to chemical toilet.All this for £35.00 per night. Not good They said new management took over. But should have closed or charged less

Liked Perfect for our requirements. One night stay to watch the cycling so this site was in great location for us, very friendly staff. Very quiet site.

Disliked It is under new management so a bit of work going on in the bar and pool area ready for the 2027 season but it will be lovely once completed. A bit if a remote location if wanting to leave the site you def need a bike or car to get anywhere.

Camping pod

Liked Brilliant pod. Comfortable and warm. Nice to have the kettle and toaster. Handy as we forgot the gas for our stove. Great atmosphere in the club with the regulars and drinks reasonably priced.

Disliked The toilets need attention. Only one working in womens in club and that was leaking. Shower block needs attention

Liked General location was good.
Food from the kitchen was good.
Friendly bar staff.

Disliked Needs some TLC. Only one ladies shower working out of two, and it was cold and dirty.
The kitchen was advertised as open Wednesday to Sunday but was only open on the Saturday.
WiFi wasn’t working.

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre (10 minutes). Take off to Tattershall Castle (10 minutes’ drive) – a textbook version with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from youngsters (and probably their parents too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
