Riverview Caravan Park

Mi è piaciuto: Site has potential but at the moment the touring site is undergoing a big upgrade, making a tarmac road around the site and re- grassing, should be nice when finished. Facilities ok but only 2 showers for each sex and probably not enough if the glamping pods are well occupied. Found facilities quite dirty on a number of occassions as they were being used by the workmen with muddy boots,also they didn’t care if they used the male or female. As a result of this we were accomodated on a unused pitch on the static part of the site. Caravans seemed very close together and many seem to be residential occupied by workers. Site has a bar which looked nice and well furnished, plus a swimming pool and a small gym which looked neglected and untidy. We found the owner/manager very nice and he phoned us before arrival about the mess on the building site, so we could have cancelled if we wished, but we were meeting friends so we were fine to stay. I think the new management will eventually make this a lovely site but have quite a bit of work to do yet. The setting is lovely right by the river with nice walks along it’s banks. Would I stay again, yes, as I thing they will make the site very nice

Would you beleave it been a bit of a journey with our touring park up grade
With 18 new hard standing pitches acesse rring road to all pitches and hard standing parking places for the pod

Just a bit of cleaning to be done
Our problem is lack of rain as we just layed 2000 SQM of turf but with some water management it's looking amazing
But I must say the park is looking amazing
Please take advantage of the free week end
The caravan park has only (statics) 55 plots with no age limit there a good sense of a community spirit
But we're can you find such a small beauful park with it own pub pool restaurant some of the best river fishing .karioke and bingo over the week end


Look forward to seeing you again in our finish park people say it's the best in Lincolnshire now

Easter bank holiday is always our busiest week we were full

As you could see we have alot of work done to 50% of our touring field putting in new hard standing pitches and a new access road and parking spaces for the pods this has been very challenging and the work over run due to the weather week before but will be all completed with in the coming days

Mi è piaciuto: This site was perfect the pod was clean, they were warm without the heaters on and they were comfy. Enough space for two people (one pregnant wife) and two dogs.
The site had entertainment on all weekend which we didn’t go to but was there if you needed something to do
The shower block were hot, pressure was great and they were always clean

As a lot of people said the toilets did run out of toilet paper but coming on Easter bank holiday it was somewhat expected in non commercial site ,just bring your own that being said I didn’t affect the stay one bit

Honestly for the price you really can’t complain

Mi è piaciuto: The bar was ok and friendly. The barman gave us one free sambuca (not drinks all night like the response to a fellow campers review below) which was very nice of him.

We did get a free pod although it’s not what we really wanted. I think it was a nice gesture that said being we were positioned less than 600mm from it I don’t think even this site would have the nerve to rent it out!

This place has potential but needs some investment and the finer details taken care of.

The manager was very friendly and a pleasant person. The residents were all very friendly and nice people.

The price is low compared to others however……

Non mi è piaciuto: Having travelled the UK and Europe camping over the last 20 years I want to give an honest review to this site. Disappointingly there is a lot that’s wrong.

1) This site has power issues when full. Despite the managers reply on other reviews blaming the caravans, I testing the incoming voltage which was low. Your appliances will not work correctly while staying here.
2) The pictures are not correct on this site and are misleading. There is no touring field. We were wedged between Camping Pods.
3) The site had a road being put in and what looked like more handstands for Pods. The work site was not protected and left open to public access. The manager explained the works had overrun but this should have been informed before we turned up!
4) Fire safety distances are not being observed with little to no fire break. You are being positioned between pods. T
5) Shower facilities for the ladies were down to one for the whole site. When we arrived Thursday these were not operating and remained broken throughout our stay. This is despite the owner replying to another review claiming they broke on the Friday.
7) On another review it shows a picture of the wash up sink held up by pieces of wood with the manager claiming it’s the cleaners sink and the reviewer is wrong. This is the wash up sink and to make matters worse you have to walk planks to get to it as the grounds been dug up everywhere.
8) The chemical waste is basically a joke. It’s an open pit in the ground surrounded by mud and no tap provision. Honestly keep your kids away as they can put their hands in it etc.
9) Would recommend a fence around the play area as it’s basically positioned on the road as you come into the site. The park is backed with large conifers which could obstruct the view of a child running into the road.
10) The site was very noisy on two nights. I was woke up at 2am and 4am on separate nights by drunk people shouting. Perhaps some ground rules need to be established.
11) A fellow camper had a nail sticking out near his caravan and I witnessed the manager saying he would get it sorted straight away. He never returned. Perhaps he got side tracked?
12) Unfortunately the long haired barman did place ice into a drinks several times with his bare hands. I observed this with a fellow camper. I am sure this was just because he was busy and was not thinking. The gentleman was nice and helpful.
13) The water point was 5 inch from the ground partially on a hill. It was leaking all weekend creating a small mess around it. It’s difficult to fill up aqua roll.
14) You are being rammed into this site in every direction. Cars were basically crossing pitches etc to get to their pods. One poor lady who was leaving early reversed out and smashed her car into the electric post and damaged her car.
15) No WiFi and limited phone signal.

This is a true and honest review. I note the manager is actively replying to reviews and can see that some of his responses are not true or factual. We left early as many people did with caravans and also staying in the pods.

I agree you did not see us at our best due to the up grading of our touring field as we want the number one spot
hence the free camping pod and the free return stay was offered to you when you arrived

As we have been here for thirty years
And the photo are correct .

Around the out side of the site we have 19 new hard standing pitches .

When you arrived I did explain about our challaging issue as the ,new access road and 19 hard standing pitches had run over the finishing scedual
So we did give you a choose and explained that we were putting you between the pods
And give you a free camping pod for your stay plus a free weeks stay on us

Your comment re our long hair bar man his action have been told to my bar manager

We known by most as a little pease of Lincolnshire paridice

Non mi è piaciuto: The touring field advertised now contains many camping pods. Had this been obvious upon booking we would not have choose to stay here. The photos for the site are very misleading and should be removed.

Very disappointed not to be a given a proper pitch, instead the best option we were given was going in-between two camping pods.

The closeness of pods and other caravans was far too close, to my understanding the basic fire precautions states vans should be 5 meters away from eachother. This was not the case and as the previous reviewer commented everybody was just crammed together.

Toilets constantly without toilet paper and hand wash. Only one female shower for all campers on the 'touring field' which also had to be shared with guests staying in pods - this is unacceptable.

Power kept constantly cutting out our fridge, park manager said it must be an issue with our caravan (never been an issue before and spoke to multiple other campers experiencing the same issue).

There were screw heads poking out of the wooden pods at the eye height of my two year old, raised this issue to management - nothing was done to resolve the problem during our stay.

Guests smoking and issues with noise during the night.

We were disappointed and had enough so like others around us left a night early.

Hoping to get the number one spot on pitch up .after been voted second best in Lincolnshire out of 380 touring parks

We are putting in 19 new hard standing and a new access roads and parking spots for the pods upgrading our touring field

We did apologize appon your arival
And we gave you a free camping pod for your stay which which your toddler enjoyed we also offered you a free weekend on us

I was shocked to see the comments about the bar as our landlord kept you full with free sambuca shots all night

The issue with you fridge was challenging
As it had a fault . With a low voltage

After you bought this to my attention it was resolved with in a minute

But why did not bring this to my attention before .but this was after you were disconnection other campers from there electric point leaving them with out power to plugg in your connection
All you had to do was bring it to our attention in stead of taking thing in to your own hands and disconnection other people electricity leaving them with out electricity

The above was bought to our attention when other campers came to us saying they had no electricity à

after our meeting about it and you disconnection the electric I explain it could not be made good untill our team return on the Tuesday as it was apart of the bed in side the pod

At this time you agread with me we though every thing was ok

Toilet paper
We got through 147 rolls of toilet paper with in 7 days the shower block are cleaned three times a day over busy week end and with it being bank holiday weekend this has always been challaging .

Sorry about the shower in the ladies but unfortunately somebody had pulled it off the wall on the Friday night
your correct in the ladies there was only one shower avalible

I was unaware of the consumption of weed on the touring field one evening which is totally not allowed but I am sorry we just a family run park and there is no need for security
asking some of our regulars the park was very quiet at night time as always

Mi è piaciuto: The area is beautiful park is brilliant for little kids and club house so welcoming for everyone of us when we got there with bingo karaoke. you get to see the fighter jets in the sky witch the kids loved .
The shower and toilets are in a log cabin witch is great a really nice site to visit
