What customers say

A tidy, peaceful adult-only spot with fab, modern amenities, incl. roomy showers. Pitches are flat & ample. The pub serves great grub, but check opening times. Some road noise noted, and car needed for walks. Despite a few niggles re: cleaning/WiFi, it's a top base for exploring.

Powered grass campervan site

Liked Lots of bang for your buck here, hook up, water, lovely pitch, clean showers and toilets, sluice, washing area and honesty shop, 50m away from the pub, free WIFI, what more can you ask for. It had it all really and there was absolutely nothing bad I can say about the site. On reading previous reviews I couldn't see any of the points they were complaining about so well done to the owners for sorting them out.

Disliked Nothing, loved the place.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked We are local to Hereford and booked one night, just to escape work! We had such a lovely evening, the campsite was almost fully booked but it was still so quiet!
The facilities are fantastic and there’s lots of picnic benches which are handy!
Thank you for providing such lovely facilities! We will be back next year!

Liked Peaceful stay. Sinks generally clean. Wi-Fi.

Disliked The photos bear no resemblance to the site. My experience a neglected site with weeds in the hard standing and lack of care. We arrived and very nearly drove away thinking we were not at the right site. We couldn’t park on the grass we booked, pitches not reserved so if someone else has taken your spot, it’s tough luck. The main issue the showers and toilets - filthy, the dust on sanitary bins suggested they hadn’t been wiped in a long time. Pubic hairs in showers and cleaning buckets that would add more dirt if used. The showers didn’t work - either scalding water, cold or no water depending on others using toilets, sinks or showers. The showers may be a health and safety issue without proper water regulation.

Liked The loo I used was relatively clean.

Disliked Letton was a letdown. It looked like someone had spent time and money on the pub and the campsite, but both have sadly become unkempt, with the pub closed and the campground overgrown and full of weeds.

Liked Nice little stop over. Situated behind a pub. Clean toilets, washing up area.

Disliked They are called Letton Campground our satnav took us to the wrong location. If they call themselves the swan inn campground we would've found them. I only worked this out because payment was taken by the Swan Inn. If this is my only complaint then everything else is ok.

Liked The location is lovely, 20-30min to Hereford, Brecon and Hay on Wye.
Very quiet peaceful place.
The kitchen for dish washing and they had a washing machine, which was great and a fridge for campers to use.

Disliked Only 1 sometimes 2 shower's out of the three worked and if someone else was in a shower your water would totally stop.
Also one side of the site is next to someone’s garden and they have 3 very large aggressive dogs. The fence is only 3-1/2-4 foot high and one of the dogs jumped over and was running around the site. At the time there were 4-5 of us with small to medium sized dogs, thankfully none were hurt. That fence needs to be considerably higher.

Liked Large pitches with electricity and water at the pitch.
The showers were a good size and each had a toilet and basin in too.
The honesty shop was a nice touch
A good base for days out to the stunning surroundings

Disliked Sadly things had been let go, we arrived on Monday no one answered the phone even though those were the instructions on arrival and no returned call to voicemail. The bins outside were over flowing and the bathroom bins were half full.
One shower was broken. You couldn’t have two showers or a toilet flushed at same time otherwise shower went freezing and took ages to warm up again.
The owner did come back and what a difference, the now full bathroom bins were emptied, the showers cleaned but sadly this was the only time in the 6 days we were there. The owner had been away with work for two weeks. We may have just hit at a bad time

Local attractions

Walking’s certainly one of the go-to pursuits around here, but what kind of trails will you be clobbering? For those long-distance routes, the 136-mile Wye Valley Walk (five minutes’ drive) passes hills and the river, while the 177-mile Offa's Dyke Path (15 minutes) traces the border between Wales and England. There are challenging mountain paths up in the Black Mountains (an hour and 20 minutes) and for easier-going walking or cycling routes through village landscapes, the Black and White Trail (five minutes) should fit the bill. Of course, the Brecon Beacons National Park (50 minutes) is another hiking hub, but other outdoor activities are in full flow here too, from caving to gorge walking. When you fancy sprinkling some history into your stay, Arthur's Stone (10 minutes) has a decent helping, in the form of a Neolithic tomb linked to King Arthur. Hay-on-Wye (10 minutes) has a castle, or there are museums dotted around Hereford (20 minutes), a nice pairing with a distillery trip or shopping outing. And to round off your historical route, perhaps the National Trust’s The Weir Garden (10 minutes) might serve as a digestif, as this historic garden was once under Roman settlement.
