  • Pet-friendly site on 235 acres of parkland
  • Half an hour's drive from Silverstone
  • Fishing lakes, bars and restaurants
What a whopper of a site. Award-winning activity and fishing centre Billing Aquadrome is a couple of miles from Great Billing in Northamptonshire and set over 235 acres of green parkland and lakes. With so much to do around its grounds, it's likely that you'll want to stay put here for your entire trip… and if you do desire to speed off somewhere, Silverstone is only half an hour's drive away. The site is set an aquadrome surrounded by water, so it has fishing lakes of varying sizes and depths where avid anglers can cast off for carp and common mirror carp, catfish, pike, roach, bream, tench and rudd. Bring along your own fishing kit and an up-to-date licence, and buy a fishing ticket from the team if you want to try your luck. Away from the water, the many other facilities include bars and restaurants (yes, plural, plus a beer garden). Just take note that the bar, beer garden and restaurant are all adults-only from 10pm. There is a seasonal swimming pool on site; one swimming session is permitted per day and has to be booked in advance. And speaking of the essentials... there are takeaways, a supermarket and shops right on site too, as well as picnic areas, Sky Sports and – if you need your barnet tamed after all that activity – a hairdresser's.

Shelduck (area 4) powered grass caravan site

Liked: Loved the freedom to pitch up anywhere on the designated field. Nice facilities clean & modern. Lots to do for kids and some peaceful walks too. I'd love a seasonal pitch here but only if they are in a private gated area. Definitely be back.

Shelduck (area 4) powered grass caravan site

Liked: The staff on arriving helpful and cheerful.
The site is good for families and fun but also peaceful enough if want to go for a walk around the lakes and fish 🎣
Only one person caught something but maybe need more adding into the lake

Disliked: The only downside, is at the pool 🏊‍♀️ only 2 hot showers working facing the pool, which isn’t ideal when washing hair and body and the others freezing 🥶
One hairdryer working only out the two and need more and hand dryer wasn’t working in the toilets either.
No inside entertainment which is needed or maybe karaoke 🎤 for back up, if older people wanted some entertainment or if raining and cold not ideal outside all the time and something could be put in place for our next visit in August when we book a week sometime. Just a thought for teenagers and adults because most love a karaoke 🎤 and fun inside would be good 👍

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.

From the very beginning of your holiday, we want you to feel welcomed and at home on our park. We are very lucky to have a variety of fish including pike, roach, perch, bream, and carp, offering multiple peaceful spots for casting your line and enjoying the surroundings.

I’m truly sorry to hear you found the swimming pool showers mostly cold during your stay. This isn’t the standard we aim for, as showers should be warm and comfortable nobody wants to step out of a pool into a cold shower! I’ve passed your feedback directly to our pool team who are investigating this as a priority. We’ll also be checking all the hairdryers.

We are always looking at ways to improve the experience for both our holiday guests and our holiday home owners. While we can’t always control the weather, we know it can put a damper on plans. We're currently exploring better ways to help guests still enjoy the outdoors, even when it's wet or chilly. On particularly bad days, we make use of The Willows as an alternative space to relax and stay dry.

Thank you again for your comments we hope to welcome you back again soon for a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.

From the manager: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback.

Firstly, huge apologies if you came across any dog mess during your stay. That’s absolutely not the standard we aim for. We’ve recently purchased another load of bins which are on their way to the park now, and we’re placing them in key areas to help make it even easier for our guests to do the right thing.

We always stress the importance of picking up after our furry friends, and we’ll continue to reinforce this across the park.

We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed the activities and found plenty to do, especially with children that’s exactly the kind of experience we want to create!

We do hope to welcome you back again soon and thank you once again for helping us keep improving.

From the manager: Thank you for your kind words we’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay and that the site, facilities, and team left a great impression.

We’ve invested millions into the park to help families make the best memories together, and we’re committed to keeping everything looking its best. We have a large number of new bins arriving shortly, and our pitches are grass-cut weekly to maintain a clean and tidy environment.

We appreciate your note about activities booking quickly we recommend booking in advance, and we're always working to ensure there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy.

The photos you shared are brilliant thank you.
