Positiv Great walks from site, great ice creams and kids loved seeing the animals. New cafe outdoor seating area is great and cafe looked popular. Nice smallholding for an afternoon coffee trip. Quiet nights, so slept well. Kids were enclosed in the camp area so didn't have to worry about cars.
We liked the signage with the Welsh pronounciation. Good cheap basecamp.

Negativ Site is smaller than their pictures suggest (approx 12 small plots), my husband and I felt mislead by some pictures. We would usually have camped a bit more picturesque/rural and would have paid more for that had we realised. Staff were not particularly warm and welcoming. Camping field could have benefitted from a roller and pitches were close together, but on this occasion it didn't matter as there were not many of us there. This was lucky as I had checked our large air tent would fit and they said yes, but I asked to move on arrival as the nominated pitch would have been a squash right next to one of the only other tents.

Negativ Grass was a bit long. Not too much of an issue for us as in a campervan
Lock on one toilet is broken - the owners probably don’t know - didn’t see them a second time to let them know.
Again something owners probably not aware of - people running engine in carpark while they cook using boot of car - annoying engine noise when farm was so peaceful.

Positiv Not far from Abertillery! Toilet was clean

Negativ Difficut access as gate was blocked by cars. Field was very small, grass had docks and hadn't been cut. The ground had been churned up by grazing livestock. There was rubbish on our pitch, which we had to pick up. Toilets and showers were primitive, and only 1 toilet was available while we were there.
The site was very over priced, compared with others, at £30 a night.

Positiv A space in the corner of a field amongst tents.

It was a laid back environment. Lady in shop was polite.

Negativ It may not suit everyone due to a noisy environment. They was a party in the barn next door with loud music till at least 10pm. Other campers were playing music.

It's a busy place as next door is a public cafe and farm


The showers weren't clean, however hot unlimited water and heater in there.


Washing up facilities next the ducks, questionable location and not a clean area.

Positiv Really lovely little campsite, we stayed late in the season and arrived after 6pm. No one was around but phoned the lady who directed us where to pitch. We had the whole site to ourselves.
Can imagine it’s a lovely place to bring small kiddies as it’s a farm and the field is secured by fencing all around. A fire pit in the middle with some ride on toys around too.
We didn’t try the showers but these looked clean. Toilets were fine too although no loo roll provided. Luckily I carry my own. Facilities were unisex and 2 of each unit supplied.
Grass pitches, I believe it’s all tents only and a few small campervans are allowed. We were in a vw camper. There is a picnic table for every pitch.
We paid £30 for the night, feel like it’s at the higher end of pricing considering that’s without electricity.

Negativ No toilet roll or towel to dry hands on.

Positiv The host was lovely and very informative when we arrived.
They were happy with a late arrival.
Car park very close to pitches.
The pitches were level and the grass was kept short.
Nice communal fire pit available.
Good toys available for children.

Negativ The pitches were very close to one another, so we felt we had little privacy.
The toilets had no toilet paper for over 24 hours and I don't feel the shower block was cleaned whilst we stayed.
There was no washing up facilities.
There was no obvious water points available on the site.

Negativ No one to check us in on arrival as reception was closed. Manager did apologise next day when we made her aware.
Toilets and shower facilities are very basic. MY partner struggles to walk with his mobility, and found that we couldn't drive to our pitch not even to unload we had to carry everything across the field and found it very difficult. These are just a few minor points which im sure can be improved on.

Positiv Area was close to local places. It was ok for the one night for us. Did the job

Negativ Nobody to check us in. Someone had taken the spot allocated for us. People were walking past most of the night down the lane. Toilets were unclean and no toilet paper the entire time we were there. Looked like nobody had checked them at all.
