Positiv The local village and church. Bought eggs and jam

Negativ The wood is the villagers dog walk. First evening a large brown dog tried to attack us,the owner could barely control it. It wrecked our little set up,tipped over our fire pit. I locked myself and small dog inside the van and left first thing in the morning. The relaxing time that I had hoped for was not possible. Lots of dog walkers with big dogs walking past during my short stay.

Positiv The woodlands were incredible.
Peaceful and tranquil.
Compost toiletts a surprise to the kids who have never seen them.
Showers were fabulous nice and hot if required.
Owners were welcoming and helpful.
There is wife signal, but no electric points which was great to disconnect the kids from their phone.
The site is away from crows but closed enought to towns for shopping, walks or swimming. 45mins you are in East Devon. 1hr poole / Bournemouth. I am not a pro camper, this site is perfect for anyone who wants the camping experience. Can't wait to go back.

Positiv Lovely peaceful site. Basic but clean toilets, showers and washing up station. Your own little bit of woodland to pitch in. Great correspondence with owners as well. Can’t wait to go back. I’m a lone traveller and felt totally safe.

Positiv Liked the feeling of freedom. We turned up, picked out pitch, surrounded by lovely woodland and set up. Enjoyed the quiet vibe of the woods.

Negativ Sheep in field were entertaining but did disturb sleep at night/early wakening. That said, not convinced site can help that.

Positiv It is in a nice location with pretty woodland walks, short walk to a good local pub and plenty of places to visit in the local area. Good pre arrival communication from the owner. Enjoyed watching buzzards and red kites flying overhead and the cider at the local Isaac orchard is good.

Negativ Unfortunately it missed the mark on a few points. Our pitch was pretty scruffy with brambles and branches that had recently been hurriedly hacked down left around the edges of the pitch. Luckily we took secateurs and tidied a few bits up so we didn’t get ourselves or our tent ripped. There were five tree stumps which really limited where we could put up our tent and if our tent had been much bigger we’d have had trouble pitching it on flat ground (it’s just a four berth). In general the whole site could have been better maintained. There was no signage or map provided to show where the two toilets and shower and washing up areas were. We weren’t the only ones who couldn’t find it as others asked us too. As it happened the loo was quite a way from our pitch. There was a shorter route but it meant walking via other people’s pitches which I didn’t want to do. Another loo near the entrance end of the site would be helpful. The pitches weren’t terribly private compared to other woodland places we’d been to and even less so as the woodland was open to local residents to walk their dogs. We had several walk by every day which was uncomfortable when we were relaxing outside the tent.

Although no fault of the owners, we returned home with a few ticks latched on to us so I would just make sure you check yourselves and your dog after a stay.

Would we go back, probably not, but with a bit of extra care and a bit of tweaking this could be a great site.

Positiv Peaceful, clean, ideal for kids with playing ground very close by.

Positiv Great pitches, wild camping, plenty of space and secluded under trees. Walk to the pub is worth the 15 minutes. Easy drive into Bridport with their market on a Saturday.

Positiv Really nice stay at the camp site. Excellent communication. Nice to get away from it all. Very wild style camping, which is what we wanted.
