Lowther Holiday Park

Positiv Lowther Holiday park holds special memories for both me and my husband and we couldn't wait to add to those memories with our 2 boys. The camping area is lovely. The pitch size is great and we had a great area of grass for the boys to run around. The toilets and shower are very clean and the distance to the toilets gave our 6 year old an excuse to ride a bike. We enjoyed picking some tasty treats from The Lakes Bakery and the playgrounds where appreciated too. The playground by the bar is most suited if you have toddlers. We enjoyed taking a stroll through the forest down to the tank bridge. Lots of new memories where made and we will definetly be back.

Negativ Although the bakery was lovely the shop part is poorly stocked and very overpriced.
This website claims that the site is a quiet site and doesn't allow music. On our last night there was quite a few arrivals. As the night went on they got louder and started to play music and had a microphone as well. We didn't know who to contact to help with this and unfortunately did dampen our experience a little bit. However we will be back.

Positiv Really nice holiday park couldn't really fault anything, fantastic location, loads of to if you like walking and site seeing, so peaceful aswell

Negativ Shower facilities weren't the best quite old, my partner has a phobia of spiders and the showers was full of them due to open doors and windows, they was quite dated and didn't look like they were cleaned that often.

Positiv Great location for our trip to Scotland. Site very clean and lovely walk along river bank. On-site bar and adjoining shops selling all necessities. Would use again if in the area or passing on route

5 minutes away from pooley bridge and ullswater a little bit further also Penrith very close town with supermarkets

Positiv Loved the setting and location .. babbling river and beautiful scenery.
Very clean facilities, toilet block and showers and even a bath.
Pub was very good. Cider excellent and staff all pleasant and helpful

Negativ Was not so keen on having a code for entry to the toilet blocks as I have a bad memory so had to take a pice of paper with the code on wherever I went.
I felt there was not enough places for household rubbish and these were quite difficult to find as not signposted.
Our electric hookup was not working but luckily our lead is very long so hooked it to a neighbouring pitch

Beautiful pitches inamongst the trees.
Gorgeous pizza's ordered from the onsite bakery.
Bar prises were regular prices..overall a brilliant place to holiday.

Positiv Location for the park where we were pitched with tent was ideal for the children to play without worry, facilities were clean and tidy, short walk to toilets, bins & water, access to the river so the children could investigate and see what they could find. Like the option for a bath as one of my children won't do showers. Setting of the park was beautiful!

Negativ Not ideal for the toilets for the kids, especially for those that don't give you much warning 🫣 There were a few close calls.

Positiv Ideal location for Ullswater. On site bakery. Landscape - trees and nearby river, much more than just another field. Friendly and helpful staff. Level pitches.

Negativ Toilet and shower blocks a bit tired and worn and could have been cleaner and better maintained.
