- Family-friendly site in the mountains an hour’s drive from Valencia
- A 40-minute drive from Platja Sagunt; surrounded by mountain routes
- Sports grounds, playground and a bar and café; dogs are welcome
Surrounded by green pine forests, springs and streams, next to the Palancia river and an hour’s drive from Valencia, guests at Camping Villa de Viver are living out the full mountain fantasy. What’s that, exactly? Well, here it’s not uncommon to wake up to the sound of birds and squirrels, before picking up the mountain routes suggested by the site and returning in time to count the constellations at night.
The traditional, family-run site is a wildlife haven in Castellón with shaded pitches surrounded by pine trees and an attractive set of facilities. These include two bathroom blocks with hot water showers and sinks with hot water (they are accessible for disabled guests), a bar and café (the kitchen is open between Easter and summer) and a large terrace with sublime views and a wifi zone.
When it comes to letting off steam, don’t doubt the site on that front either. There’s a pool that’s operational in high season and a football field, basketball ground, playground and social room. Guests here are usually clear that they want to rest, get lots of fresh air and stay somewhere with a family atmosphere. Dogs are welcomed on site too.
Other handy facilities that have been put in place are a washing machine (an extra cost applies), car wash, parking for caravans, chemical disposal points, a first-aid kit and recycling points. Barbecues are welcome, but paelleras (paella pans) cannot be used because of the fire risk in the Viver zone. Viver, 25 minutes’ walk away, has plenty of places to eat out too.
