WILDSPIRIT Eco Cultural Farm

Far removed from 21st-century bustle it may be, but Wildspirit Eco Cultural Farm is actually only 15 minutes’ drive along reliable roads to the Mediterranean coastline, where you have the choice of several beaches, from the quiet pebbles at Platja la Ribera de Cabanes (half an hour’s drive) to the popular sands at Torrenostra (25 minutes), backed by brightly painted beach cabins, palm trees and a scattering of cafés. When you’re chasing bright lights after dark, Benicàssim (half an hour) has lots of waterfront restaurants and bars. If you’d rather stay away from the busy Med resorts altogether, spend some time exploring your environs on foot or by bike, with a myriad of routes heading up into the hills to viewpoints like Subarra (90 minutes on foot/25 minutes by bike) for views back down to the sea. You can also find stunning medieval villages to explore. Alcalá de Xivert (half an hour’s drive) has a hilltop castle and ornate cathedral to have a look around, and the hilltop white village of Vilafamés (35 minutes) is a photogenic jumble of tiny alleys leading up to a well-restored castle.
