  • Fishing, hunting, kayaking and cycling available nearby
  • Café/restaurant, games room, playground and tennis courts
Village rambles or city days out? Such tough decisions shouldn't be made while on holiday, and so one should stay somewhere one can do both. And so – Camping Riaza, a mere hour from Madrid but in an area with Castilian villages dotted around and with easy access to forests, mountains and rivers. When not roaming around the Spanish outdoors or the streets of Madrid, settle down among the well-kept facilities on site, including a games room, playground, sports court and tennis courts; there's also a business centre (if you really must) and a café/restaurant for sampling local grilled meat and roasts. Forgotten something? The mini market is well stocked with essential items. The Camping Riaza amenities blocks have hot showers, disabled facilities, laundry corners and a baby bathtub.

What customers say

This spacious and peaceful campsite offers excellent, clean shower and toilet facilities with hot water. Many reviewers highlight the convenient location, easy access, and well-maintained grounds. Electric and water hook-ups are available at pitches. While some found the on-site restaurant and shop to be closed or poorly stocked, especially outside of peak season, the overall experience is frequently described as positive, with particular praise for the helpful staff and attractive surroundings. Issues with pitch access for larger vehicles and limited shade during warmer months were noted by a few guests.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Lovely clean facilities. Great restaurant. Helpful reception. Nice grassy areas and well thought out lay-out of the whole site.

Disliked We also stayed one night in a small bungalow which was lovely and warm BUT it was semi detached and our neighbours were not quiet until 1:30 and the walks are very rhin so it was very noisy.

Liked Nice site, flat pitches and clean washrooms. We stayed 1 night on our way south and then 1 night on our return journey north to Santander. Very quiet the nights we stayed. It was November.

Local attractions

Camping Riaza is set northeast of Segovia at the border of Soria and Burgos, and at the entrance of the small Castilian medieval town of Riaza, known for its food, art and architecture. Also nearby, take a day to trek around the viewsome town of Sepúlveda, its medieval buildings and its three Romanesque churches, before rounding it all off with dishes of roasted cordero and cochinillo in the local restaurants. The Duratón River and Duratón River Canyons National Park must (must must) not be missed for their spectacular gorges, cliffs and caves. If you're feeling active, get out on the nearby water for a spot of canoeing or kayaking. Fishing is available locally too.
