Demand a stay here as soon as humanly poss. For the Spanish site of Camping Puerta de la Demanda is in a tiptop spot, half an hour's drive from the fab old city of Burgos, and a couple of kilometres from the spectacular views of the Uzquiza reservoir. It's also (yes, this is a tiptop spot), within easy reach of the Arlanzón river, for long lazy days of boating on its calm waters, and 20 minutes from the UNESCO-listed Atapuerca Archeological Site, the biggest archaeological site in the world. (If you're hunting history of any kind, this region is the place to be, as Castile and Leon has more medieval castles than anywhere else in Europe.) The dog-friendly site is in a valley of oak, beech and pine trees, a couple of kilometres from the municipality of Villasur de Herreros and two and a half hours south of Santander. It's a top spot for digging into Castile and Leon culture too, as the restaurant dishes up a fine selection of traditional regional cuisine, and the bar with spacious terrace is the place for sipping a Spanish beer and drinking in the countryside views. A mini market stocked with daily essentials is also on site, along with good general amenities including a launderette and washing-up area, free hot showers, toilets and disabled facilities.

Liked We actually opted to stay in a "glamping pod" due to rain. But this worked out really fantastic. The site, the bar the restaurant, the staff, all were really great.
Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend this site. Great out of the way secluded country side location. Next to the lake/ reservoir.
Really great.

Disliked Early departure meant parking the van outside the barrier, not a problem I'm this case, but less" total security" for the vehicle and not have the vehicle to hand during the night.

Food in restaurant was amazing!

Disliked Minimum payment on card is 20euros, not great if you forget cash
Gate is locked until 9am so cant leave until then

Liked Small clean site with very good facilities and pool.

We ate at the bar restaurant and had cod. It was very good and the best meal so far.

Good cycle on quiet roads around the reservoirs and river.

Disliked The showers cubicles do not have space to change in and so the changing is in a shared area. No problem for me, but worth being aware of

Liked A lovely, quiet campsite. The pool was spotless as were the toilet facilities. Cute bar and restaurant that serves good local food. Staff were very friendly.

Liked Zwembad, schoon netjes toiletgebouw, ruime plekken, padelbaan, goede sfeer. Gastheerschap, restaurant met menukaart bij camping. Mooie omgeving met veel fiets- en wandelmogelijkheden.

Disliked Geen supermarkt in de buurt dus wel goed plannen.

One early stop should be the Atapuerca Archeological Site, one of several UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Castile and Leon.
