Take a look at those mountain views. Glamping Gril, set at an altitude of 600 metres in Slovenia’s Upper Savinja Valley, is a peaceful site with some spectacular scenery. This is one of the country's less-visited areas, and this remote location makes a great base for some quiet downtime admiring the scenery – either while putting your feet up on site or while trekking along nearby trails.
Small and friendly, the site is well away from any noise from cities or towns – and blissfully free of light pollution too. That means you'll often get some spectacular stargazing while you're here, as well as being treated to excellent sunset views from your spot raised above the valley. To help you make the most of the views at all times of day, there's a spacious seating area available, with covered and open-air tables as well as a firepit where you can get a blaze going to keep you warm.
Other facilities here have been well thought out, too – the aim is to keep the place nice and peaceful but also provide plenty of convenience for guests. With that in mind, you’ll have access to a kitchen, a chemical disposal point and bathrooms with toilets and showers. Barbecues are permitted if you'd like to bring one; pick up supplies in Ljubno ob Savinji (10 minutes’ drive).
As for getting out to explore the area, there are options close by for walking and more hardcore hiking as well as cycling, swimming and climbing.

Liked Es un sitio muy tranquilo con unas vistas preciosas. Todo muy cuidado y muy limpio. La pareja que lo gestiona es muy amable. Hay que tener en cuenta que la toma de agua y luz es comunitaria, no por parcelas, pero al ser tan pequeño y con pocos huéspedes, todos muy amables, no es un problema.

Local attractions
With such stunning mountain scenery comes a whole lot of outdoor activities to choose from. Local providers can sort you out with days of paragliding, rafting, canyoning and mountain biking, and there are some great trails on Raduha, the area's tallest mountain (around 50 minutes' drive). While you're there, stop in at Snow cave Raduha (55 minutes) as well to see what lies underground.
Velenje (35 minutes) is a lovely place to spend a day, with a lakefront beach and a Renaissance castle to visit. The city is also home to The Coal Mining Museum of Slovenia, where you can descend 160 metres underground to ride a mine train and eat in the world's deepest dining room.
While you're picking up supplies in Ljubno ob Savinji (10 minutes), you may like to stay around for a meal in a cosy local restaurant or to learn about the town’s history as a log-diving hub. To explore a bigger settlement, head to Celje (45 minutes) to see its Roman remains, medieval castle and colourful Old Town.
