Set on seven hectares of leafy farmland, Salaš Đorđević is five minutes’ drive from Palić in the north of Vojvodina, and close to Serbia’s border with Hungary at Horgoš. Spacious and partially shaded pitches for tents, campervans and caravans sit under trees, and a river runs through the property – should you be bringing the family hound with you, there are waterside strolls for walkies too.
The site is well set-up for families too; there’s an outdoor pool and sundeck, a play area, and a sports field with facilities for volleyball, football, basketball and tennis. You can also go wild swimming and fishing in the river, and livestock grazes in the surrounding fields.
Food-wise, you have options: eat in the restaurant, which has a wide range of regional dishes and drinks, get a local takeaway delivered to your pitch, or make use of the barbecues and picnic tables. Pick up supplies from the shops and supermarkets in Palić, where there are also a few restaurants.

The site only allows dogs up to 10kg.- The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.
- All: access to the swimming pool is not included in the rate and is charged RSD1,180 (£8.68) per adult and RSD590 (£4.34) per child per day.

Local attractions
Wine lovers will be pleased to hear that there are two wineries within five minutes’ drive; Vinarija Zvonko Bogdan is open for tours of the wine cellars and vineyards, while the vineyard at Petra has a gorgeous setting overlooking Lake Palić. Both offer tastings of their vintages.
If you’d like to explore the countryside around Lake Palić on horseback, there are stables at Ergele Kelebija (25 minutes), where horse-and-carriage rides are also available, and at Zobnatica (half an hour), a stud farm that also offers lessons and hacking.
There’s more local heritage close by too; the vibrant city of Subotica (15 minutes) has a soaring twin-spired baroque-era cathedral but is better known for its decorative Art Nouveau buildings, with its city hall and striking synagogue being the masterpieces. You can also get a feel for local life in Korzo, the pedestrianised main street lined with cafés and shops.
