Get that holiday feeling at Vakantiepark 't Witven, an intimate and family-friendly site with access to a three and a half-hectare beach for basking in Brabant among old oak trees. This site’s also got slick facilities to help make sure your trip runs smoothly, from a casual restaurant with a terrace overlooking the water to an 18-hole miniature golf course.
If the shorter humans in your family have joined you on hol, guests also have discounted access to the indoor swimming pool complex at Veldhoven under 10 minutes' drive away, which includes a waterslide, lazy river, jet streamers, a bubble wall and fountains. Back at base, three playgrounds and a trampoline mean kids might struggle to select which spot to make a beeline for too.
For a break from supervising the smaller holidaymakers, send them off to the kids’ club while you check out the on-site culinary options: a bakery’s on site for warm rolls in the mornings (with coffee and tea plus ice cream served as well) and a snack bar’s about too for fast food.
Once the kids are back from hanging out with the site’s cuddly mascot, sort out bike rental with extra seats for small riders and head out as a family on countryside routes through forests, open landscapes and heathland. Wanders are to be had as well – drop by reception for a walking route network map – or try canoeing, horse riding and fishing at one of the ponds surrounding the park.
Retreat to the site once the day’s done and freshen up in modern amenities including hot showers, washing-up areas and an adapted toilet with a shower for guests with disabilities. A launderette is also available (as is an ironing board if you need to smarten up your clothes for a trip into Eindhoven, 20 minutes’ drive away).

The Dommel’s within a short walk of the site for riverside roams but if you’d like an activity to get the adrenaline spiking, try the climbing walls at Monk Bouldergym Eindhoven 20 minutes’ drive away.
If that sounds too much for the kids, go for calmer times in Zoo Veldhoven (15 minutes) and Beekse Bergen safari park (half an hour) or have a gander at the goats – while learning how they’re milked and cared for – at the 't Geitenboerke farm under 15 minutes’ drive away.
For other forms of educational amusement, Eindhoven Museum is an open-air space that will take you back in time with its interactive activities run by residents in historical dress.
