What a spot for a break in rural Veneto – a mere minute’s drive from the A13 Padua-Bologna motorway gets you to Dofinè, a lovely little site in the Euganean Hills. The touring pitches here are part of an estate that’s been in the same family since 1912 but has really come into its own under the guidance of the current (third-generation) owner Nicoletta. Along with her husband Riccardo (an AIS-certified sommelier), she now manages the estate’s 15 acres of vineyards, growing nine grape varieties and producing 20 different wines. There are also a couple of acres of mixed orchard on site – and the whole thing makes a pretty wonderful backdrop for the touring area. The spacious pitches are just as good as the views here – you’ll park up on well-draining gravel with a dedicated green space and amenities including electric hook-ups, water and waste services. A bocce court is on hand for a little gentle exercise and competition, and there’s a colourful play area for the kids too. Dogs are also welcome, and there are plenty of paths nearby for walks. Of course, you can’t come to a place like this without sampling some of the produce, so you’ll need to sign up for one of the nightly tasting dinners or settle in for cicchetti (Venetian-style snacks) on Saturdays and Sundays – all washed down with the estate’s SQNPI-certified wines. When you’re not sipping wine and/or admiring the views, you can be out exploring the area – perhaps taking the shuttle bus to reach the thermal spas in and around Battaglia Terme or to the railway station for connections to Venice and Padua.

Local attractions

Ready to work up an appetite for your dinner? There are around 40 miles of cycle paths through the surrounding hills, and plenty of nature trails and golf courses nearby too. If you want something a little more challenging, try one of the treetop trails at The Adventure Park Fiorine (half an hour’s drive) or sign up for scuba or freediving sessions at Y-40 The Deep Joy (five minutes), the world’s deepest thermal-water pool. Prefer to take it easy? Opt instead for a trip to Castello del Catajo, Castello di San Pelagio (both five minutes) and Castello Cini Monselice (10 minutes) or stroll around the gardens at Villa Selvatico (five minutes) before picking one of the area’s more than 200 thermal pools with spas and saunas to relax in. If you’ve got a little longer, it’s worth knowing you can use this place as a base for day trips to either Padua (25 minutes) or Venice (35 minutes) – both are also easy to get to on the train from Battaglia Terme.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
The site will send you further check-in information 2 day(s) before your arrival.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 2 day(s) of arrival.

Dogs

Dogs are prohibited from main facilities and amenities.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
