Tuscan culture connoisseurs: get this. A mere couple of kilometres' drive or bus ride from Camping Boschetto di Piemma will take you to the medieval walled village of San Gimignano, so famed for its stone towers, 13th-century walls and other ancient structures that it's one of Italy's designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Make your way back home after this for traditional Tuscan cuisine of all flavours as well as international dishes and pizzas at the site's bar-restaurant Selva delle Torri, to have on the terrace overlooking the spectacular surroundings and gardens. Although barbecues are allowed on site and there's a food shop, make room for at least a couple of dinners at this smashingly set restaurant, for it's 'much more than just a pizza place', as one sated guest satisfactorily notes. These are peaceful surrounds all around, amid the cool shade and tall trees of an elm and oak forest, in a remote setting surrounded by green Chianti hills. Leisure facilities include a heated outdoor pool, three tennis courts, a small football pitch and a playground, all as modern and well-maintained as the spacious restaurant. Although this is a remote and peaceful place, you don't have to hide away completely if there's a big match on, as major sporting fixtures are shown on the big screen at the bar: raise a glass or drown your sorrows at the end result with a glass of the finest local wine.

Liked Mooie ruime plek voor de caravan. Camping ziet er erg netjes uit. Schoon sanitair, wc papier, zeep. Mooi aangelegd. Veel schaduw. Heerlijke pizza’s, die moet je zeker gaan eten.
Dicht bij San gimignaro wat een erg mooi plaatsje is. En makkelijk te bereiken vanaf de camping met bus of eigen auto.

Disliked De douche is wat verouderd komt een flinke straal water uit maar je tas met kleren hangt aan de deur en er zit geen klein wandje tussen dus opletten anders is alles nat.
Zwembad ligt naast de camping maar je moet een badmuts op. Geen mogelijkheid om te voetballen.
Bij ons gingen er om 5 uur ‘s nachts 3 campers weg met het nodige inpaklawaai. Jammer want wij wachten netjes tot 7 uur maar waren hierdoor vroeg wakker. Voor ons niet duidelijk of het aan de camping lag.
Wificode werkt niet en geen mobiel bereik.

Liked La tranquilidad,el entorno,el personal de recepción,la comunicación con el transporte público para desplazarse al pueblo que es precioso,con lo poco que estuve allí quedé encantado y con ganas de volver.

Disliked No puedo valorar las actividades por qué no nos dió tiempo,de hecho creo que no había actividades para los niños.

Liked Buchung über Portal problemlos, netter Kontakt mit Stellplatz-Mitarbeiter.
In Teilen naturbelassene Plätze, für Mobile 7,00 m ausreichend große Plätze.
Sanitärbereich ausreichend und sauber.

Disliked Lüftung der Pizzeria sehr laut, bis kurz nach Mitternacht.
Stellplätze vom vorherigen Benutzer oft verschmutzt hinterlassen (z.B. Kippen),
Vielleicht sollte der Betreiber kontrollieren.

Liked Der Platz war sauber. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Praktisch war die direkte Busanbindung nach San Gimignano

Disliked In der Hauptsaison kann man über das Internet einen Camperstellplatz nur zwei Nächte buchen, egal ob man auf der Durchreise ist oder nicht. Das finde ich sehr schade. San Gimignano ist wunderschön aber zwei Tage war für uns einfach zu lang. Wir sind nach einem Tag weitergefahren. Leider wurden uns die buchungsgenühren nicht erstattet. Tipp bucht per email oder Anruf, dann gehen häufig auch in der Hauptsaison nur ein Tag

Liked Gute Lage zu San Gimignano, problemlose Erreichbarkeit des Ortes mit dem Bus, der direkt vor dem Camping Platz hält. Preis war in Ordnung.

Disliked Es war recht kalt, jedoch die Klimaanlage/Heikzung funktionierte nicht. Der Boden des Caravans wackelte bei bereits sehr leichten Bewegungen.

This peaceful place is a couple of kilometres from the fab old town of San Gimignano, on a hillside circled by its 13th-century walls. It's the only settlement in the world to have so many well-preserved ancient stone towers (at least 12), and is also famed for its Vernaccia di San Gimignana white wine, acclaimed throughout the country since Renaissance times. You have options day and night in this beaut and scenic town: start off with a hike to the top of Torre Grossa, one of the highest towers in town for spectacular views of the city and its surrounds, then stroll around to the Duomo and the Palazzo Comunale, to visit the Museum of Medieval Art. The Camping Boschetto di Piemma team reckons a gelato in Piazza Cisterna is a must, as well as a romantic meal in one of the small piazzas serving tasty Tuscan cuisine. You should also have a look at the ruins of Montestaffoli fortress – and book a wine tasting tour in town too. Within day trip distance are Siena, about 45 minutes' drive away; Florence, just under an hour, and Pisa, within an hour and a half.
