You'll already have heard just how fab Tuscany is. The land of Tuscan steaks and endless other Italian flavours, hills and varied landscapes, art, heritage and spectacular cities such as Pisa, Florence, Lucca and Siena has been famed worldwide and much visited for centuries by peeps of considerable taste… and you'll have heard that Tuscan wine isn't too shabby either… Amid all this, and most handy as a base for all the aforementioned cities, is Toscana Holiday Village, set on five hectares about 25 miles from Florence and designed to give guests all they need for a comfy and memorable Tuscan hol: you'll very much enjoy the restaurant with its roomy terrace overlooking the terrific Tuscany hills… For other eats, Toscana Holiday Village is about 15 minutes' walk from the medieval town of Montopoli in Val d'Arno and its small selection of bars, restaurants and a pizzeria, so you can ditch the car if you want while here. Pack your swimming gear, your sunnies and your sunscreen for days under the blazing sun in and around the Toscana Holiday Village pool, open throughout the summer season (weather dependent, but likely to be most fine). Sun loungers and beach umbrellas near the pool are available for guests to use free of charge. The site has a bar as well as the restaurant, where bread and pastries can be ordered for the the next day. The Toscana Holiday Village team organises activities such as a kids' club, theme nights and live music during the summer school holidays.

Liked Weather was amazing.
Food from the restaurant was lovely.

Good to get to local train station, to get to Florence and Pisa.

Disliked The showers were always full of water and wasn't cleaned that much. Toilet paper was minimal so always took our own.
Blockage in drain pipes around us and made an awful smell.
Swimming was forced to closed during 3/4 of our holiday forcing us to leave early as it was too hot to just sit around.
WiFi didn't work either.

Liked La piscine est plutôt sympa. Je pense que sans cela, le camping est très médiocre. Nous n’avons pas eu l’occasion de tester le restaurant.
À l’accueil ; le monsieur à été très gentil. Cependant, une des dames n’était pas très accueillante ! Je pense qu’il est important, quand on travaille dans ce secteur, d’être un minimum souriant et agréable.

Disliked La propreté : très sale, notamment les sanitaires et douches. Pour un camping 3 étoiles, c’est très limite ! Nous avons passé qu’une seule nuit et heureusement !

Liked Nous n'avons rien apprécié spécialement.

Disliked Emplacement sans charme, et sale oreiller matelas et détritus par terre.
Les sanitaires sont vétuste et sales, Nous avons donc installé notre douche de voyage.
La piscine avec du rafistolage au sol pas très beau au regard.

Vraiment très déçu et une honte de faire payer des gens pour cela .

Liked Really beautiful food! (although had ran out of Pizzas).

Toilet block too far from where we ended up being put - due to not being able to get to the pitches we were originally sent to. (There has been a storm before our arrival)
Tree bits in pool.
After ordering a bottle of white wine (and pointing to it), we got brought the most expensive red on the menu.... was a very nice red though! :)

Liked Een leuk zwembad met schoon water, met een lifeguard aanwezig. Vriendelijk personeel en een goede ligging tussen Pisa en Florence.

Disliked De toiletten vielen tegen: het toiletpapier werd niet elke dag bijgevuld. Eén herentoilet was twee dagen verstopt en bij de herendouches ontbraken de kraanknoppen."

Liked The pizza from the restaurant on site

Disliked The site cleanliness was dreadful. Bins were overflowing, washing up area was grubby. As for the toilet and shower areas, they were appallingly dirty and the floors were swimming in dirty water. The toilets were stained, some had seats, some didn't and there was toilet paper littered all over. There were no set pitches, just a free-for-all. All the shrubbery was overgrown and the night lights on the stairs were mainly not working. After rain the ground was a mud bath.To top it off, the pool was closed! 41euros per night was a complete rip off.

You'll probably have heard too how delish Tuscan food is, as it's rightly famed all over the world. The best way to sample the meat, truffles, wine, bread and oh so much more of this region is to pedal around the area and stop off at an agriturismo (farm catering for guests) for some home-cooked Tuscan tuck. Small local villages like Barberino Val d'Elsa, Collodi and Barga and Certaldo and Vinci near Florence will also yield much in the line of tasty Tuscan cuisine, as will the much-visited cities of Florence, Lucca, Siena, Pisa and Pistoia, also filled with many many museums, churches, cathedrals, piazzas, palaces and sculptures.
