To the Sardinian seaside… and days as active or chilled as you like them. Whether your holiday agenda features heaps of watersports and coastal hikes or nothing more demanding than selecting your spot on the sands, it’s all easily sorted from Villaggio Nurral, 15 minutes’ drive north of Alghero. Pitch up here in the pine forest just outside Fertilia and you’ll be a mere 10-minute trot from the resort’s beach, a kilometre of soft sand with shallow surf for safe small-person splashing. The Porto Conte Regional Natural Park is about 10 minutes away if you like your coast a little more rugged, and there are plenty of boat trips and watersports centres around the resort to entertain those seeking aquatic activities. Swing by in summer and there’s much activity on site too – a packed daily programme keeps the nippers busy while the elders put their feet up, and the evenings are similarly stuffed with all sorts of shows, music and the like. Table tennis, table football and a playground are all on hand for kids who require a bit of activity outside of organised ents times. For eats, you may well select to stay on site for something from the lengthy and pleasingly family-friendly menu (with an accompanying grownup-friendly cocktail list); it’s only a short stroll to the resort’s restaurants and bars if you fancy a change of scenery.

Disliked: L'accueil horriblement froid et désagréable. Nous ne nous sommes pas sentis les bienvenus. Il faisait froid et pleuvait mais nous n'avons pas eu le droit de rentrer dans la salle pour manger ce que l'on leur avait commandé (uniquement le choix entre 2 minis sandwichs à 6 euros l'unité) mais avons dû rester sur la terrasse sous la pluie .
Les douches étaient froides et on nous a répondu que le gaz était vide et au vu du peu de clients la bouteille ne serait pas changée..... Les WC et douches d'une saleté....Nous avions payés pour 2 nuits et sommes repartis au bout d'une nuit.

Disliked: I bagni in pessimo stato, partendo dalle porte, piatto doccia rotto e pavimento sporco.

Disliked: Piazzole non numerate non segnalate e non delimitate in nessun modo, allaccio alla corrente a pagamento e non garantito non sapendo se la piazzola (spazio a caso nel bosco) che ti trovi abbia effettivamente la colonnina per la corrente. Terreno dissestato non pianeggiante dove non è possibile sistemarsi in maniera rapida e comoda. Se si arriva di notte risulta praticamente impossibile trovare una sistemazione decente. Non esistono piazzole vere e proprie è un bosco incolto e abbandonato pieno di rifiuti dove si fanno spazio con la legge del più fortunato tende macchine camper e roulotte senza avere uno spazio delimitato e garantito. Per chi come me che ha una tenda da tetto, e che quindi si sposta durante il giorno senza lasciare niente in campeggio al rientro devi avere la fortuna di trovare il posto che avevi lasciato. Mi sembra ridicolo dover sperare di avere il proprio posto dopo aver pagato in anticipo prima di vedere lo spazio e non aver la corrente garantita visto la piazzola non numerata. I servizi igienici docce e bagni vengono puliti in maniera grossolana una volta ogni morte di papa e non è spesso presente la carta igienica. È un campeggio in totale abbandono dove campano solo quelli che hanno la roulotte tutto l’anno e si prendono uno spazio esagerato, 30€ al giorno per non sapere neanche se lo spazio effettivamente c’è sembra una presa in giro….

Local attractions

Plonking down on that fab beach for days on end is certainly an enticing option (and in fact a mighty fine one if you’re in need of a proper rest); if you fancy a bit more action there are canoes to paddle about in and a hilarity-inducing floating inflatable obstacle course to tackle. Scuba diving types are well sorted here: a couple of dive centres in the resort offer courses and guided dives in and around the protected marine area around Porto Conte and Capo Caccia. If you’d rather stick to the surface, grazie, boat trips leave from Alghero (15 minutes away), passing by the Caves of Neptune and often stopping for a bit of snorkelling along the way. Hoping for a spot of history? Head to the Roman ruins at Anghelu Ruju necropolis (handily located next to a vineyard), visit the Bronze Age Nuraghe Palmavera or take in the towers of Alghero. Happily for those who don’t wish to be cooped up in the car for too long, all are within a 15-minute drive.
