A spacious site on the dreamy Apulia seafront… what’s not to like? Villaggio Camping Capo Vieste is spread over six hectares of land a 15-minute drive from the seaside town of Vieste, in Apulia's Foggia province.
There’s direct access to the beach from here: a splendid several kilometres of sand with shallow waters for swimming, watersports lessons and kit hire (kitesurfing, sailing and paddleboarding among them). The site also has a special serviced area for those who’d simply like to sprawl on a lounger under an umbrella.
Decided to move from your carefully chosen space on the sand? Site facilities include tennis and beach volleyball courts for getting active while the kids take on the playground or whoosh down the swimming pool slides. And if you want to pack the younger ones off for longer, an entertainment team gets to work in the summer season, running a busy programme of activities for kids and teens. In the daytime, there are trips aplenty for the whole family, while in the evening you can catch live entertainment back at base.
Eats are easily sorted here however you choose to cater: follow up your aperitifs at the seafront bar with a meal at the restaurant, a takeaway pizza or a barbecue using supplies from the well-stocked site supermarket.

Local attractions
A 10-minute drive from the adventurous hiking and mountain biking of Gargano National Park in what’s known as the ‘Spur of Italy’, Villaggio Camping Capo Vieste's in a rather excellent location for outdoor days of all sorts.
If navigating Puglia’s coastline is on the cards while you're here, sit back and soak up the views on a boat trip to the sea caves from Vieste. Or set sail for the Tremiti Islands – known for their spectacular scuba diving, coastal walks and wildlife – also from town.
A 20-minute drive from the site will bring you to the Old Town of Peschici, a whitewashed seafront village with a castle and sublime sandy beaches. If you'd rather have some woodland walking, the ancient trees of Umbra Forest are a 25-minute ride away.
Take to the car for an hour to San Michele Arcangelo Sanctuary at Monte Sant’Angelo, a truly lovely old building steeped in Catholic history. Or, if you merely fancy meandering around close to Villaggio Camping Capo Vieste, the archaeology site of Santa Maria di Merino is 10 minutes away on foot.
