Start your visit to Cerveteri (10 minutes’ drive) at the National Archaeological Museum, which houses Etruscan vases, sarcophagi and other items unearthed in the surrounding countryside. So pair the Colosseum with a visit to the Roman Forum and Trajan’s Column if you’re into Imperial Rome, and head to churches like Saint Louis of the French and St Ignatius if you want to see spectacular Baroque architecture.
