A splendid sea-view site on the Campania coast, within strolling distance of the centre of Sorrento – sounds good, si? Set forth for family-run Villaggio Campeggio Santa Fortunata, in a quiet hillside spot a couple of kilometres from the famed resort’s beaches, shops and restaurants. If you think it sounds good already you may well surmise that it gets even better when you note such things as the fragrant olive, lemon and oak trees that fill the grounds, and nifty touches including an on-site restaurant (with both tasty food and sea views, of course) and a mini market for your snacks, drinks and other bits and bobs. Although the sea views may be fab, no doubt you’ll be wanting to get rather closer to the clear waters of the Amalfi coast – and you can with great ease from here, as there’s a small beach a very short walk away. If you like your swims and sunbathing to come with even less effort, settle at the open-air pool, which is surrounded by a sun terrace with parasols and loungers, or find more of the same at a chilled-out clifftop sunbathing area. Once you’ve sauntered around Sorrento, it’s worth noting that this site is handily placed for jaunts elsewhere along the Amalfi coast: day trips to Positano, Naples, Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneum and Capri all await (assuming you can rouse yourself from the sun lounger and sea views…)

Liked Buena piscina. Animación para niños. Supermercado abierto todo el día y buen surtido. Baños muy cerca de la piscina. Personal amable y dispuesto a ayudarte.

Disliked Baños y duchas no muy bien mantenidas. Pagué por el WiFi y nunca tuve cobertura estable. ( me advirtieron en recepcion que podia ser que no tuviera cobertura y asi fue). Muchas cuestas en todo el campimg. (Propio de la geografía de sorrento y toda la costa amalfitana). Piscina muy retirada de la parcela. Ya que el campimg es muy grande y hay demasiadas cuestas muy empinadas Tuvimos que alquilar una moto (65€ dia)para poder ir a la piscina, al supermercado y recepción. Ya que todo nos quedaba lejos de la parcela. (También la aprovechamos para dar paseos por el pueblo)

Liked Top Campingplatz super netter Service und sauber. Die Lage sehr schön und von oben kann man die Stadt sehen wunderbar.

Sehr nettes und freundliches Personal am Empfang .

Disliked Es kommt darauf an wo man mit dem Camper steht dann muss man schon weit ans Meer laufen und sehr viele Hügeln.

Liked Arrivée tardive acceptée mais il ne faut pas être pressé
Le camping est à l’extérieur de la ville mais ce n’est pas un problème avec la navette du camping (2 euros en espèce obligatoirement par personne aller + 2 euros par personne retour y compris pour les enfants)
Nombre de blocs sanitaires et de poubelles adapté au nombre de campeurs
Personnel souriant mais se contredisant pour faire payer des prestations supplémentaires

Disliked La plage annoncée est en fait, après une centaine de marches, une petite zone de cailloux avec du verre au sol et quelques transats que l’on ne peut pas utiliser car appartenant à la plage voisine, impossible de poser la serviette que l’on n’a pas le droit de poser sur la plage même pliée … il faut la déposer sur un rocher au dessus de l’eau.
Accès wifi payant, et non dispo sur certaines places de camping.
Accès piscine seulement avec bonnet (vendu au bar)
Le jour du départ impossible de laisser le véhicule stationné sur une place de parking (malgré de nombreuses places disponibles)
Croisière à Capri vende par le camping (paiement en espèce obligatoire) pour le jour du départ seulement en rajoutant une nuit à 55 euros… UNE HONTE !!!!

Liked the lovely "feel" the entire site had - relaxed, friendly, helpful and happy staff, mix of ages, groups and nationalities
the swimming pool
the restaurant
the washroom blocks where we were fairly new and always clean
opening hours of shop
vending machines dotted around
the shuttle bus - convenient, timings
variety of food choices - takeaway pizza etc , sit down, snacks at pool, own food

Disliked the price of the ice!! We needed to keep our cool box stocked with ice and without a car we had to buy from the campsite. 5 Euros a bag is a lot when at home I can pay just over a Euro. Just felt a bit steep.

Liked Landschaftlich sehr schön. Gute Ausgangslage, um die Amalfiküste, Neapel, den Vesuv und Pompei zu besuchen. Personal sehr hilfsbereit.
Sanitäre Anlagen in Ordnung.

Disliked Stellplätze sehr klein und uneben. Ohne E-Bike oder Motorroller ist alles nur sehr mühsam erreichbar aufgrund der Steilküste. Lebensmitteleinkäufe schwierig. Schlechte WLAN und Telefonverbindung. Abends sehr laut.

Liked Godne polecenia miejsce! Piękne widoki. Obsługa bardzo miła i pomocna. Kawałek spacerkiem nad wybrzeże żeby skorzystać z morza. Niestety leżaki są płatne. Restauracja mega! Pyszne jedzenie, lepsze niż na mieście :) pewnie jeszcze tam wrócimy ! Czasami słabszy internet- proponuję najpierw sprawdzić jak działa a dopiero później ewentualnie kupić dostęp do ich WiFi.

Liked Camping très grand, avec plusieurs types de séjour possible.Très belle situation sur la colline avec une belle vue si vous avez la chance, propre, plage privée, navette pour le centre ville. Propre. Personnel professionnel a l'accueil.

Disliked Les emplacements tentes ne sont pas tous de même confort. La navette est payante (allée - retour 4 euros). Besoin de grimper la colline bien raide pour aller a l'accueil, aux toilettes ( parfois loin), a la piscine, au resto et surtout à la plage. Personnel de menage venant de loin et masculin, même dans les douches des femmes. Wifi payant à la journée.

Liked Il camping è molto carino, ci è stata assegnata una piazzola spaziosa e con una bella vista sul mare. Sia alla reception sia al minimarket il personale si è dimostrato sempre cordiale e molto disponibile.
Una delle cose più belle del camping è la spiaggia privata che oltre ad essere meravigliosa è anche poco affollata e relativamente economica per quanto riguarda gli ombrelloni e i lettini (se confrontata con i prezzi proposti dagli stabilimenti a Sorrento).

Disliked - prezzi del bar per fare colazione troppo alti
- il fatto che i tour proposti vadano pagati necessariamente in contanti
- i bagni non sono sempre puliti e a volte risultano scomodi per fare la doccia e i bagni delle donne vengono sempre puliti da uomini

Local attractions

You’ll surely start in Sorrento, strolling through the lovely Old Town, sipping local limoncello in shaded piazzas and soaking up some of the old fishing-village vibe by dining at a seafood restaurant by the harbour. Sorrento’s also the spot to pick up a boat ride over to the island of Capri – once you’re there, flag down a smaller vessel to dart in and out of the coves and caves along the craggy shoreline, such as the shimmering Blue Grotto. You may also like to rub shoulders with other glam guests at one of the island’s swanky beach clubs – or you may prefer to take to one of the island’s hiking trails if you’d rather a bit more space to yourself. Where else? Well, if it’s these little seaside towns that are your style, plan an outing to Positano (35 minutes’ drive). For a big city vibe, nip up to Naples (an hour), perhaps venturing to the crater of Vesuvius enroute. For much-famed history, take a trip to the Pompeii Archaeological Park (45 minutes) and/or Herculaneum (an hour).
