A splendid sea-view site on the Campania coast, within strolling distance of the centre of Sorrento – sounds good, si? Set forth for family-run Villaggio Campeggio Santa Fortunata, in a quiet hillside spot a couple of kilometres from the famed resort’s beaches, shops and restaurants. If you think it sounds good already you may well surmise that it gets even better when you note such things as the fragrant olive, lemon and oak trees that fill the grounds, and nifty touches including an on-site restaurant (with both tasty food and sea views, of course) and a mini market for your snacks, drinks and other bits and bobs. Although the sea views may be fab, no doubt you’ll be wanting to get rather closer to the clear waters of the Amalfi coast – and you can with great ease from here, as there’s a small beach a very short walk away. If you like your swims and sunbathing to come with even less effort, settle at the open-air pool, which is surrounded by a sun terrace with parasols and loungers, or find more of the same at a chilled-out clifftop sunbathing area. Once you’ve sauntered around Sorrento, it’s worth noting that this site is handily placed for jaunts elsewhere along the Amalfi coast: day trips to Positano, Naples, Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneum and Capri all await (assuming you can rouse yourself from the sun lounger and sea views…)

Liked At the check-in reception the girl who checked us in, called AMBRA, was very pleasant friendly and informative also spoke very good English. She was very helpful and guided us for all of the 5 days we stayed. I have three daughters aged between 30 and 50 years old, I would be very proud if any of them were as polite and friendly as AMBRA !!
The campsite was clean and with good wash facilities, the market shop was well stocked and with a good reasonably priced deli, also the restaurant was very good. The views were fantastic overlooking the bay, and an excellent frequent shuttle bus service into Sorrento station. I only took one trip, to Capri, which was excellent value for money. I took the train to Naples, Pompii but it was very crowded it would have been better to have taken the organised trips from the campsite.
I will recommend and would return to this site again, hopefully AMBRA would still be working at the campsite she really was very helpful and pleasant.

Disliked Not enough hanging in the toilets and showers, and no wheelchair toilets. No free WiFi, and having to go online to book and pay for the washing and drying facilities, and as with many campsites in Italy no hot water in the sinks for shaving, but at least the hair and hand dryer was very good.

Liked Great sea view, good size pitch, great electric and water, brilliant facilities. Shuttle bus into Sorrento or public bus just outside the gates. Great Port nearby to catch ferry to Amalfi.
Lots of bars, shops and eateries to choose from. We had a great level pitch.

Disliked Bit tight getting on and off the pitches in 7m van, ok with care.

Disliked Wir können den Campingplatz in keinster Weise empfehlen! Die 1. schlechte Erfahrung haben wir bereits bei unserer Ankunft gemacht: nachdem man uns einige Tage zuvor den Bus aufgebrochen und viele Wertsachen gestohlen hatte, u.a. den Ausweis meines Mannes, machte man ein riesiges Problem daraus, dass wir nur ein Foto des Ausweises vorlegen konnten. Die 2. schlechte Erfahrung kam dann kurz darauf. Wir buchten eine Bootstour. Nur leider konnte mein Mann nicht teilnehmen, weil er plötzlich erkrankte. Die 65 € für ihn haben wir nicht erstattet bekommen. Weil seine Erkrankung schlimmer wurde, wollten wir bereits nach 3 Nächten, nicht erst nach den gebuchten und bezahlten 5 Nächten abreisen. Auch hier kannte man keine Kulanz und hat uns nicht einmal die Hälfte des Geldes rückerstattet.
Zudem sind alle Wasserhähne im Badhaus kaputt und spritzen bei der Benutzung wie verrückt und die Seife an keinem einzigen der Spender wurde aufgefüllt. Sie waren alle leer. Zu guter Letzt wurde tagsüber Putz von der Fassade des Badhauses gekloppt, was unter normalen Umständen nicht stört - schließlich müssen die Arbeiten ja erledigt werden - aber in der Summe war es mehr als unbefriedigend für den ziemlich hohen Preis. Wir kommen weder wieder noch empfehlen wir den Platz weiter!

Disliked Wir hatten keinen schönen Stellplatz, hatten mehrmals nachgefragt ob wir einen anderen haben können, war nicht möglich, trotz das viele frei waren. Schwimmbad furchtbar, Grünspan im Becken, ungepflegt und unsauber, Zugang zum Beach war gesperrt

Liked Nice and big Camping with the best view to the sea.
The pool was very good and so was the location in Sorrento. Everything well organized. Would definitely recommend and come back!

Disliked Only negative thing was that we had ants in the camper due to the camping ground but with some ant spray it was okay.

Liked Camping très bien organisé avec transport vers la ville( payant), location de scooters, prévisions de visites, etc..
Il est complet avec une superette, un restaurant
Le personnel est aimable
Les sanitaires sont maintenus propres malgré les comportements de certains vacanciers.

Disliked Les seuls endroits plats sont les emplacements pour se loger (caravane, camping-car, chalets...) le reste du temps il faut monter pour aller à la réception, à la piscine, etc ou descendre pour aller à la plage, se laver etc..
Et bruyant. Beaucoup de monde passe le matin très tôt avec une valise à roulettes et malgré des véhicules électriques on entend passer le personnel de très bonne heure pour faire l'entretien.

Local attractions

You’ll surely start in Sorrento, strolling through the lovely Old Town, sipping local limoncello in shaded piazzas and soaking up some of the old fishing-village vibe by dining at a seafood restaurant by the harbour. Sorrento’s also the spot to pick up a boat ride over to the island of Capri – once you’re there, flag down a smaller vessel to dart in and out of the coves and caves along the craggy shoreline, such as the shimmering Blue Grotto. You may also like to rub shoulders with other glam guests at one of the island’s swanky beach clubs – or you may prefer to take to one of the island’s hiking trails if you’d rather a bit more space to yourself. Where else? Well, if it’s these little seaside towns that are your style, plan an outing to Positano (35 minutes’ drive). For a big city vibe, nip up to Naples (an hour), perhaps venturing to the crater of Vesuvius enroute. For much-famed history, take a trip to the Pompeii Archaeological Park (45 minutes) and/or Herculaneum (an hour).
