Get a load of this scenic spot: on the Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn, Camping- und Ferienpark Wulfener Hals is between the surfing hotspots around Lake Burger and its sandy beaches. Guests can plunge into watersports activities like kite surfing, windsurfing, scuba diving and sailing right from the site, and a sandy beach is a short walk away.
The excellent facilities include a pool area with a whirlpool and a sauna, as well as a beauty centre should you feel like being pampered and prettified. Feeling sporty instead? Ping pong, basketball and football are among the many active pursuits to get stuck into at the multisports court; you can also hire bikes on site or book local excursions and activities like horse riding along the sandy beach.
After a day on the high seas (or lounging around by the pool), take in some of the summer evening entertainment, or settle down for freshly caught seafood fodder at one of the site’s four restaurants – washed down with a cool German beer or fine regional wine and with terrace views of the Baltic Sea.
If instead you'd rather sizzle up a storm pitchside, you'll find pretty much all you require for barbecues at the well-stocked grocery store.

Long stretches of sand along 78 kilometres of coastline, small freshwater lakes, jaggedy cliffs and vast meadows are what you’re surrounded by at this Baltic Sea island.
Fehmarn's also famed across the globe for its windsurfing conditions, with the island hosting the Kitesurf World Cup Fehmarn annually: kitesurfing, sailing and windsurfing are available right from the site for days on the waves, and scuba diving and fishing can be done from there too.
The island's gently sloping shorelines and broad sandy beaches are a safe and scenic place for families to head to, but should you seek something slightly more grownup, a pool complex on the island's south beach promenade has seawater pools, relaxation pools and several saunas.
Further inland, Fehmarn's meadows are spot on for day-long walks, and at the start of summer every year the island's fields transform into a stunning swathe of yellow, so be sure to bring your camera along on hol. Fehmarn is a birdwatching haven too, with more than 200 species to spot over at the 300-hectare Wallnau Waterbird Reserve, a short drive away on the island's west coast.
