  • Peaceful and scenic site in the Chartreuse Regional Natural Park
  • A 25-minute drive from Chambéry and 40 from Aix-les-Bains
  • Shop with basic supplies on site; barbecues are welcome
Explore the lovely landscapes of Savoie at Camping La Bruyère, a quiet site 25 minutes’ drive from the city of Chambéry in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. At the foot of the Chartreuse massif in Chartreuse Regional Natural Park, La Bruyère is in a prime spot for exploring this region of France on foot, by bike or in the car – the park is crisscrossed by a network of waymarked trails and attractive roads. Follow the Route des Savoir Faire to find liqueur makers, cheesemakers, artisan glovemakers and more, all ready to showcase their wares. Once you’ve tired yourself out, retreat to Camping La Bruyère for a sedate game of pétanque, to kick a ball around in the open spaces, or just to relax among the trees. A large building houses a fully refurbished toilet block, reception area and a common room with table football, games and books for rainy days. No doubt all the adventuring will make you feel peckish, so it's handy that you can pick up some bread, pastries and other basic supplies at the on-site shop. You can also grab morning coffees and teas on the terrace, or settle in for drinks and ice creams later on. Barbecues are welcome at La Bruyère, so feel free to light one up to cook your meal. If you fancy a break away from the campsite, there are restaurants to visit close to La Bruyère

What customers say

A peaceful, immaculately clean campsite set in beautiful natural surroundings. Guests praise the warm welcome from hosts Nelly and Fred, the spacious and private pitches, and the exceptionally clean, modern facilities. Amenities include a communal room with kitchen facilities and Wi-Fi. While some noted limited Wi-Fi availability and a lack of pool/river, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many recommending it as a hidden gem.

Liked We loved everything about this campsite. It was quiet and peaceful, set in stunning mountain scenery. The facilities were spotless. The hosts were kind, helpful and efficient. They gave us excellent advice on a local restaurant and booked it for us. It was a beautiful short stroll from the campsite to the restaurant and the village was also very pretty and friendly.
