Electric optional grass and earth pitch

Liked Lovely camping spot, great facilities that were clean and well maintained. Instant hot water, plenty of shower, sinks and even a clothes washing area. Would stay again!

Disliked I think the hosts could have given us a few local pointers or guidance on how to get to the lake, but we managed to find it ourselves.

Amazing, quiet site with clean facilities, hot showers.

Electric optional grass and earth pitch

Liked What great value for money. A beautiful site surrounded by greenery with no WiFi as they encourage kicking back, relaxing away from technology. Great facilities, a small shop in reception for the basics, clean, modern toilets and showers. Basketball court and tennis courts for hire nearby. A path from the campsite leads to a 15 - 20 min walk down to the most beautiful lake and two restaurants. It’s dog friendly and you can swim, paddleboard and hire paddle boats with water slides attached.

Disliked We didn’t dislike anything and as it is such great value there is nothing to complain about. They did close the mens toilets between 8.30am - 9am which to me is bonkers as it’s the busiest time. This meant the men were sharing facilities with the ladies. To improve they could clean a bit later maybe 11am. I would still give 5 stars though as all round a fantastic place.

Beautiful, tranquil and clean. Would 100% recommend

Electric optional grass and earth pitch

Liked So peaceful and very clean, shower and toilets were the cleanest of any campsite I've ever stayed in anywhere around the world, literally the cleanest and nice too.

Disliked The road to the campsite is a tiny bit narrow and tight at times, go slow.

Local attractions

It has to be the lake first, really – a 20-minute walk gets you to the banks of Lac du Bourget, where you can walk by the water’s edge, and a few minutes more will take you to Plage de Chatillon, a popular spot for swimming, watersports and kids’ games. There are more walks and swims to be had in the Gorges du Sierroz (20 minutes’ drive), or you can take to the waters of the Rhône river with Chanaz Croisières (10 minutes). Away from the water, you may like to stroll through the bamboo at Les Jardins de Lornay (25 minutes) or swing through the trees at Acro’ Aventures Quintal (35 minutes). There are also insights into local history at Musée Gallo-Romain de Chanaz (10 minutes) and Abbaye d’Hautecombe (15 minutes). In Aix-les-Bains (20 minutes), Musée Aqualis will teach you all about the lake’s ecosystem through interactive exhibits; it’s a fun place to visit before a soak in the town’s thermal baths.
