- Glamping at a small Poitou-Charentes vineyard near Savigné
- Angoulême, Oradour-sur-Glane and Futuroscope within an hour's drive
- Outdoor pool on site, plus private terraces with vine views
You may well feel like you've stepped into a picture book when you stay at Le Petit Vignoble Gites et Glamping. This sweet little spot in Poitou-Charentes is a pretty place indeed, with views across vineyards and fields of swaying sunflowers. And to add an extra sense of heritage it’s all set around a traditional 18th-century stone farmhouse that's part of a tiny (and peaceful) rural hamlet.
This is a place where you can really slow down for a little while, taking a wander among the vines, having a dip in the outdoor pool or seeing if you can spot any of the local wildlife (deer, rabbits and the occasional wild boar are among the visitors here – and an owl frequently stops by too). Each of the units has its own outdoor space with seating so you may like to pick up snacks and bottles of wine nearby for a relaxed alfresco evening (both Civray and Savigné are a few minutes' drive away for supplies).
In fact you may also like to pick up supplies for full meals and breakfasts while you're out, as each of the units here has an outdoor kitchen with all the crockery and glassware you'll need for your various meals, snacks and drinks. Proper beds (with bed linen) are also provided, and each unit has a bathroom with towels supplied.
Other reasons to get out and about? Well, there are plenty – this site is well placed for visits to Angoulême or Poitiers, and it has heaps of attractions within easy reach, including châteaux, caves, lake beaches, wildlife parks… and plenty more vineyards, of course.
