Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Peaceful site, well away from road. Facilties were clean and tidy and the owner made us feel welcome. Gave a choice of pitches. Convenient for the town, shopping and intresting visit to fort.

Disliked Nothing

basic tranquil place to stop, close to the town of Guise.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Not much

Disliked Not a great place. Not in a nice area. Only once toilet. Electric ports very hard to find. Says they take cash or card but when we were there the office was locked and the man looking after the place had no key so wanted cash. We had no cash and so had to go off and find a cash machine.

Do not stay here unless you don’t value hygiene.

Electric grass and gravel tent pitch

Liked Has potential, large pitches. That is all

Disliked The big toilet block near to where we camped was completely appalling. All the toilets had brown gunk in them, all the pipes were disconnected and the shower stunk of urine. This block was obviously not in use but there wasn’t a single sign to show this. They had obviously been used despite not being in action.
The pictures of the lake and the pitches were completely untrue to what it’s actually like. There are multiple people living on the campsite in dirty caravans, and who they themselves look incredibly dirty. Not very inviting and definitely not okay for families.
The only working toilet block had one toilet for the whole campsite and two showers which were in poor condition.
The park was completely rusted and covered in thick dirt so unusable.
Really dissapointed with this campsite and would not recommended to anyone who has any sense of hygiene.

wont find many better than this place

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked ive put 2 star so you will more likely read the review as i would when choosing.
5 is more the real score

this is probably one of the better camp sites youll find around France, ignore other negative views given by people and book on here.
theres also plenty to visit if you have time to enjoy the area especially a day in Laon

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Pitches good sized

Disliked Only one toilet and two showers for whole campsite. Didn’t see any launderette, off licence or the communal kitchen as advertised. There was also dog poo on our pitch

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Nothing! We didn’t stay.

Disliked The toilet and shower facilities were mostly out of use. We were shown to one combined toilet and shower, which was inadequate and unsatisfactory. We therefore chose not to stay. This is the worst site we have visited.

From the manager: Sorry but we are always listening to our guests. We will welcome you without worry to prove to you that this is a bad point of view. Have a good day

Local attractions

Guise is a pretty town with plenty to see and do. Start your exploration at The Familistère Guise (20 minutes’ walk), built in the mid-19th century by industrialist Jean-Baptiste André Godin as housing for his workforce, and now a gigantic ‘living museum’. Don’t miss the ruined Castle of Guise (15 minutes), where you can have a forage around in underground tunnels and admire views over rooftops to the River Oise from the ramparts. For a moment of quiet contemplation in nature, head for the lovely riverside Jardin de la Presqu’île (25 minutes). To continue with the cultural theme, you may like to visit a couple of the fortified churches of Thiérache; the nearest are red-brick, 14th-century Église Saint-Nicolas in Englancourt (20 minutes’ drive) and Église Saint-Martin, topped by a black-tiled spire in Fontaine-lès-Vervins (25 minutes). If you’d rather do your exploring on foot, have a meander along the banks of the Oise from your pitch, or strike out on paths through woodland and fields in the Parc Naturel Régional de l’Avesnois (half an hour) – and if the kids are needing to run off surplus energy, take them kart racing at Labyrinthe Aventure (50 minutes).
