What customers say

This peaceful, well-maintained campsite offers spacious, level pitches, many with river views. Guests praise the exceptionally clean facilities, friendly and helpful staff, and excellent value for money. The location is superb, just a short walk from a charming town with amenities. While some noted poor WiFi signal and the need to bring toilet paper, overall feedback is overwhelmingly positive, with many visitors expressing a desire to return.

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked Beautiful setting, lovely flat pitches, good facilities lovely staff

Disliked You need a run up ( or someone ahead as a look out) to get a large campervan out of the site. But there’s nothing you can do about this so don’t let it stop you enjoying this lovely site.

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked Nice campsite with friendly owner. It was very quiet when we were there, clean toilets and showers and games area for kids.
Plenty of space also for washing pots and washing machine at the end of toilet block.
We only paid around £15 per night at the start of September , really warm every day too which was a bonus.
River nearby and short walk to the village for shops , restaurants etc. plenty of bins etc too. Nice big pitches too. Some electric.
also reception has small amount of items for sale , you can also order fresh bread for the next day. We will return here , highly recommended.

Local attractions

Walking from Camping Val de Sarthe will get you to shops and scenic points like Pont Romain (10 minutes’ walk) in hardly any time. Driving, however, opens up much more… with a car, get out to museums, lakes, heritage sites and cities. In the city of Le Mans (35 minutes’ drive), the 24 Hours of Le Mans Museum will walk you through the history of the famed 24 of Le Mans car race. The actual racecourse, Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, has simulators and go-karting activities. Browse around the city's cathedral, which has Gothic and Romanesque elements, or venture to the Royal Abbey of Epau to see a fine example of a former Cistercian abbey. To the north is Alençon (half an hour), famed for its lacemaking. It has a lace-making museum as well as a stunning 15th-century basilica and the birthplace of Saint Thérèse Martin. You may fancy planning an outing to Fresnay-sur-Sarthe (15 minutes) too, a medieval town with a castle and a pretty gorgeous riverside (picnic, maybe…?).
