Pool

  • Peaceful woodland park 15 minutes' walk from Forges-les-Eaux
  • A 45-minute drive from Rouen and Dieppe
  • Playground, pétanque court, bike hire and high-season outdoor pool
Looking for that relaxing rural vibe, but not really willing to give up the convenience of urban amenities? Camping La Minière has both aspects sorted: this peaceful wooded site has plenty of quiet space to chill out, yet is only a 15-minute stroll from the centre of Forges-les-Eaux for easy access to a supermarket, a train station and restaurants. Active types can while away hours on site with games of pétanque or table tennis; those whose getaways favour sitting down can borrow books and board games or use the communal barbecues and picnic tables to set out an alfresco feast while les enfants mess about at the playground. When you find yourself with extra downtime, make your way to the swimming pool (open from mid-June to mid-September) too. If you fancy a bit of local pottering, you can hire bikes to pedal along forest paths or hit the 18-kilometre Avenue Verte that starts from Forges-les-Eaux. Venturing further afield, a half-hour drive will take you to castles, gardens and adventure parks dotted around the countryside, while 45 minutes or so in the car can have you wandering through historic Rouen or paddling on the beaches around Dieppe.

What customers say

This campsite offers spacious, private pitches bordered by hedges, with many guests praising the friendly and helpful staff. Its location is ideal for walking to the nearby town, shops, and cycling routes. While the site is generally clean and well-maintained, the toilet and shower facilities are consistently described as basic and in need of updating, often lacking toilet paper and soap. Some guests experienced issues with Wi-Fi availability and electricity point distance. A pool is available and appreciated by many. Late arrivals can be an issue.

Liked Nice size pitches clean and tidy.

Disliked No toilet roll or soap in toilets.limited lightning in showers on a timer so at times no light at all which isn't manageable. No sockets to use hairdryer in wash rooms, only shaver adaptors. Being made to reverse out of campsite driveway on to a main road (pulling a caravan) while owner checked our details., quite frustrating after a 5 hr drive.

6-amp electric grass pitch

Liked The facilities the toilets the showers washing up areas were immaculate and clean . The swimming pool was amazing . The pitch sizes were massive with hedges all around and so private peaceful and quiet . There are static BBQs around the site for private use if you so wish along with picnic benches .
A small walk from the site you are in the Town . A lovely walk through a small wooded area . The owner was very pleasant and more than helpful .
There is a great play area for children and 2 bowl pitches .
Only proper swim wear can be worn in the pool . No shorts which reflects the established standard in France due to hygiene requirements and regulations . This also reflects the owners own standards of hygiene standards .
Lightning all around the site in the evening is dim however as you walk past they brighten making you feel safe and secure .
The price per night is extremely reasonable for the services that are provided .
I would highly recommend this site . Many people I spoke with book this site for 2 weeks as a base for travelling the area . You can obtain a pass from the owner to enter the site if you go out and about to use on your return as it is barrier ensuring safety .
We spent 3 nights in a Campervan would have stayed longer however we are touring . The 2 star for this sight does NOT reflect the true standards of the owner and the site .

Liked Fabulous site plenty of activities and clean. Standard pool hygiene rules - no shorts must be neoprene or Lycra shorts or budgie smugglers.

Disliked Some people unhappy with pool rules. We visit France and need to abide by the rules - dislike people who can’t be respectful. The site is great and lovely. If coming beware swim shorts not permitted.

Local attractions

Start your Normandy break with a wander around Forges-les-Eaux itself, poking around in the market and learning about the town’s wartime role at the Resistance Museum. A walk or bike ride on the Avenue Verte is highly recommended to see some of the scenic surrounds, as is a soak in the thermal waters of the local spa upon your return to town. If you like to peruse a château or two, take the half-hour drive to Château de Fleury-la-Forêt (home to a splendid doll museum), or wander through the gardens at Chateau de Vascoeuil to spot the sculptures scattered around the estate. More historic visits can be had in Rouen, 45 minutes’ drive away – take in the Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramic Museum, see the cathedral that inspired Monet or just potter through the restored medieval streets, looking up at the half-timbered houses. Also within half an hour’s drive are the Rêve de Bisons animal park, the gorgeous Le Jardin Plume and the treetop trails at Arbr’en Ciel adventure park.
