Tucked away under plane trees on the outskirts of historic Calvi, Vacances ULVF - U Libecciu is a peaceful Corsican spot in which to while away days under canvas. It’s also well placed for dips in the Med, sightseeing at the magnificent Calvi Citadel, or exploring ancient hillside villages in the Haute-Balagne region. Snazzy accommodation here is in spacious, open-plan safari tents, all kitted out with simple but well-equipped modern kitchens, double beds and futons in the living area that double as second beds. You’ll likely spend most of your time outside on the private decking, where there’s ample room for alfresco dining as well as loungers for afternoon siestas. All ages can keep themselves as busy as they want, what with the playground, a multisports area laid out for basketball and volleyball, and a pétanque court for family challenges. An in-house team organises entertainment for the kids during high season, and of course Calvi beach is only 10 minutes’ walk away. There’s also a communal room with a TV and well-stocked library for quieter moments, and all the local tourist info you’ll ever need can be found at reception. Foodwise, you can cook chez vous or use the communal barbecue (buy supplies in Calvi supermarkets, also 10 minutes’ walk). A snack bar opens in high season if you’d rather someone else do the catering.

Maori 1 bedroom safari tent

Liked Staff were very good during an emergency caused by a heavy storm. Called us to place of safety and gave us alternative accomodation for night.
Campsite offered good facilities but ser below for issues

Disliked Most of site not well maintained . Poor cleanliness. Furniture dirty. Blankets smelt as did replacements when we requested .

Staff often curt almost to point of discourtesy.

Insisted on cleaning washrooms at 8am and acted annoyed that we wanted to wash at that time.

Liked Tenda spaziosa, riservata. Bagni vicini e accessibili a qualsiasi orario. E parcheggio spazioso e trovato sempre libero

Disliked Accoglienza e personale. La signora alla reception molto scortese e parla solo francese nonostante i tentativi di parlarle inglese. I servizi potrebbero comunque essere più puliti. Parcheggio riservato con la propria sistemazione sarebbe più comodo

Local attractions

Photogenic Calvi Citadel is a sprawling fortress overlooking its namesake town; stroll up there through cobbled streets in around half an hour for far-reaching views over the marina and bay to the hills of the Haute-Balagne. For even more dramatic views over Calvi and the western corner of Corsica, drive up to the pink-hued chapel at Notre Dame de la Serra (15 minutes’ drive). Pick a clear evening and the sunset will be spectacular too. Honey-coloured villages pepper the foothills of the Haute-Balagne; much-restored Pigna (half an hour) is a treasure trove of craft workshops and bars with more peerless views. The medieval houses of Sant’Antonino (25 minutes) are built into the hillside; when you’ve explored, head on down to the main square for a sundowner under the canopy of trees. The sandy stretch of Calvi beach (10 minutes’ walk) is just the job for sunbathing, swimming and messing around in boats. Those of you with sea legs can embark on cruises to coastal Scandola Nature Reserve (half an hour by boat), where dark-red cliffs are indented with caves and bizarre rock formations rise from the sea.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Hired accommodation

Hired accommodation: €260.00 (£225.95) damage/cleanliness/bracelet deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure after inspection of your unit should no damage/losses be found.
Your unit must be left clean and tidy; a fine of €75.00 (£65.18) will be charged for unclean units upon departure.

You must follow the management directives when pitching your tent/unit and related equipment.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
Firearms are not permitted.
Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.
Open fires are prohibited.

Vehicles

Only one car is to be parked by the pitch. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.
The car is only included in the rate if you are travelling with a touring caravan or a tent. If you wish to bring a car along with your motorhome/campervan please select the extra.
Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Visitors

Visitors’ cars are not permitted on site.
Visitors must leave the premises by 10 p.m..
Visitors must register at reception and pay their fee.
