- Well-maintained hardstanding pitches on a Champagne-Ardenne farm
- Lac de l’Orient hiking trails five minutes’ drive; shops 10 minutes
- Family-friendly snack bar, pétanque court and play area on site
If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to lay your head on a foray into the Champagne-Ardenne region, Camping Chez Marie could be the right spot for you. Set on the edge of the sleepy rural hamlet of La Loge-aux-Chèvres and just five minutes’ drive from Lac de l’Orient in the Forêt d’Orient Regional Natural Park, this farm site welcomes campervans on hardstanding pitches with field views, drinking water and a service point.
Camping Chez Marie may be in the quiet countryside, but it’s well set up for guests. There’s an on-site snack bar with a menu of favourites like breakfasts, steaks, burgers and fries, a terrace with tables, picnic seating and a covered dining area. Younger guests can keep busy with children’s games or the swings and slides at the playground, and you have access to a pétanque court for gently competitive games with the family.
Handy practical facilities include a parent-and-baby washroom and spotless toilets, but there are no showers available. The site is fully secure, with a large gate at the entrance. There are several walks around the farm, and the resident goats may well keep you company as you stroll. Forest and waterside cycling and hiking trails are in plentiful supply, while shops and other amenities are handily placed in Vendeuvre-sur-Barse, 10 minutes’ drive from the site.
