Camping Le Kergariou

The small port of Doëlan is niftily set between the arty town of Pont-Aven and the sands of Le Pouldu, all three tiptop spots for days out along the Finistère coastline and its old cultural sites, seafood and galettes. At Doëlan, the handsome port divided by the Gauche, take the Black Bridge from the left to right banks of the river, and buy fresh fish direct from the boats every afternoon at the harbour (look on the board to see the day's catch all chalked up). The harbour is also the spot to book boat trips out to sea for sightseeing or fishing. Make your way too from Camping Le Kergariou to Pont-Aven for scenic walks, particularly the riverside stroll along the Promenade Xavier Grall and the trail around the remnants of the village's 15 watermills at the Promenade des Moulins. At Le Pouldu, have long wanders along the beach, a look at the Gaugin museum and a hike along the path of the painter, the coastal run dotted with strategically placed viewpoints. Horse riding, canoeing and kayaking are also available nearby.
