In a nifty spot near Bayeux and the famed D-Day landing beaches, Mon Taj Mahal works well for those of you looking for a mix of peaceful countryside stay and the world-class sightseeing attractions of Normandy. This mini motorhome site is home to nicely level grass touring pitches tucked under the shade of trees, with a hot tub, a shared barbecue and a communal fridge where you can stash your supplies. The pitches are surrounded by neatly landscaped and flower-filled private grounds overlooking a smallholding where goats, a donkey and a pony graze. Free-range hens and their rooster patrol the property and the site manager is Tosca, the owner’s friendly spaniel – your dogs are welcome to join in the party but please keep them under close control. A generous breakfast can be served in the dining room of the main house for a small extra charge; please reserve your meal the evening before. It’s a lavish spread including locally baked pastries and bread, homemade jams and other regional produce like cured meats and seasonal fruit juices.

Liked Beautiful small site with donkey, goats and chickens. Lovely generous host who leaves cake outside your motorhome for breakfast.

Disliked Shame there are neither toilets nor showers nor even motorhome toilet or grey water waste disposal.
