Electric optional grass and earth pitch

Liked This is a lovely quiet site next to a small lake. Good facilities and the host was great, friendly and helpful. Choose your own pitch. The village is an easy 10 minute walk with a good boulangerie and at least 1 cafe. When I stayed there were horses in the fields by the site with foals. The lake is managed for fishing and wildlife with loads of dragonflies and some very noisy frogs! Most evenings there were a couple of local people fishing but it wasn't busy at all.

Local attractions

The surroundings of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park are full of great walking and mountain bike trails for all abilities, so ask at reception for ideas that suit your needs. Waterfall trails like those at Cascade de Marilhou (10 minutes' drive) and Cascade de Salins (25 minutes) are often popular picks. For a different way to see the scenery, go horse riding with Cheval Nature Détente (five minutes’ walk), stroll the arty Chemin des pierres sculptées (15 minutes' drive) or take a ride on the Gentian Express tourist train (15 minutes). Daredevils can instead see it all from above with trial flights from Paragliding School Puy-Mary (35 minutes). Back on solid ground, you may like to explore a classic turreted castle at Château d’Auzers (10 minutes), take a ride on the Pédalorail du Grand Pays de Salers (35 minutes) or learn a bit about local farming at Musée du Fromage et de la Vache Salers (35 minutes).
