Arthez 2 bedroom lodge (sheltered balcony)

Liked: Very friendly owners, who speak good English. Peaceful location, excellent for day trips to the mountains and coast. Comfortable and well equipt chalet.

Liked: What a wonderful site, beautifully kept and great atmosphere. The family who run the site were super friendly and helpful, were interested in where people were from and where they were going next. The little bar on site had live music from Two Hugs who were awesome and we would love to come back!

Local attractions

As well as hiking and cycle trails, there are several family-friendly days out in the immediate vicinity, including La Pêcherie d'Aurit (10 minutes' drive), a kids' farm with friendly animals, pony rides and a trout fishery for anglers young and old. At Lacq Aventure (10 minutes) there's also a forest high ropes course (with routes for younger and older kids/adults) and miniature golf. A 20-minute drive away is Orthez, a handsome town with a castle, a medieval bridge with a tower in the middle and lots of good places to sample traditional Béarn and Basque food. There are also kayaking and canoeing spots along the river Ousse, plus more watersports, open-air swimming and a waterslide at Lac d'Orthez, just outside town. Venturing further afield? The city of Pau (40 minutes) is full of things to do, from taking in the far-reaching mountain views on Boulevard des Pyrénées to riding the funicular railway or wandering around the elegant château. Beach days, Basque specialities and boating from the Atlantic coast should be sought out in and around Bayonne, a popular seaside spot that's roughly an hour away by road.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

Hired accommodation

Hired accommodation: €150.00 (£128.09) damage/cleanliness/bracelet deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure after inspection of your unit should no damage/losses be found.
The damage/cleanliness/bracelet deposit required on arrival can only be paid for in cash.
Your unit must be left clean and tidy; a fine of €60.00 (£51.24) will be charged for unclean units upon departure.

Reception

Reception is unmanned after 7 p.m.. Please inform the site while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.

Vehicles

No vehicle movement between 10:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m..
The car is only included in the rate if you are travelling with a touring caravan or a tent. If you wish to bring a car along with your motorhome/campervan please select the extra.
Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.
Units longer than 7 metres are not allowed.

Visitors

Visitors’ cars are not permitted on site.
Visitors must leave the premises by 10:30 p.m..
