Fishing, cycling and maybe a spot of forest bathing? At a site that’s friendly by name and friendly by nature? Sounds like a top proposition. And that’s what awaits at Friendly Camping and Lodges, a family-oriented site on the banks of the river Dronne (hence the fishing), in the Dordogne region of western France. Owner Lisa and her trusted hound Louna welcome you with a smile (and a wagging tail) at this peaceful spot on the outskirts of Saint-Pardoux-la-Rivière. The village is a 10-minute walk away – which in the morning ought to be enough to whet your appetite for buttery croissants and crusty baguettes from the local bakery. You can then pick up anything you need for the barbecue (provided) before heading back to the site and chilling in the shade of the tall trees while the kids make new friends in the play area. And if a 10-minute walk sounds like too much effort, there’s no need to reach for the car keys; instead, head to the on-site convenience store, which sells organic local products. Amenities include a toilet/shower block (including facilities for disabled guests), a launderette and recycling points. Families with dogs are welcome, and families with very young children can borrow a high chair and a changing table. The site is on the southern fringes of the Périgord-Limousin Natural Regional Park, with its gentle forested hills and medieval villages. You can explore it by car, of course, but also on two wheels via the Voie Verte – La Flow Vélo bike path (five minutes by bike).

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.
