Langeland Camping

Stroll around the market town of Rudkøbing, with its cobblestone streets and pastel-coloured houses, stopping at cosy cafés, before heading to the marina, where you can admire the huge bridge connecting Langeland to the small island of Siø. Tranekær Slotsmølle (15 minutes’ drive) is a working windmill with far-reaching views of the countryside and the sea from the outdoor gallery. Just a 15-minute walk away is Tranekær Castle, a hilltop red-brick structure whose elegant halls can be visited as part of a guided tour. In the southern tip of the island, Langelandsfort (25 minutes) explores the history of Denmark during the Cold War years. Check out authentic underground bunkers or climb aboard a submarine. Displays also include weapons and military vehicles, plus a section of the Berlin Wall.
