Have a seaside stay in Croatia at Falkensteiner Premium Camping Zadar, a modern and friendly site on the Dalmatian coast only five minutes’ drive from the country’s oldest city, Zadar. From here, it’s only a minute’s stroll via a pinewood path to reach the beach, a kilometre-long stretch where watersporters can set off sailing, surfing or diving, and beach bars and hotel restaurants are dotted all along the coast. Further Dalmatian adventures are easily sorted via a ferry ride to the islands of Pašman and Ugljan about an hour and 10 minutes from the site, or further afield to the spectacular little island of Iž, an hour and 50 minutes from the site. Falkensteiner Premium Camping Zadar is a swish and well-maintained park with excellent facilities (see pics) all free for guests: there are adults’ and kids’ pools, two waterslides, saunas and a Jacuzzi if you seek more submerging times; a summer activity programme with beach volleyball, badminton, aerobics, football, tournaments and a kids’ club for ages three to 12, and high season entertainment including themed evenings, barbecue nights, karaoke, live music and sports for all ages. All tastes are catered for too at the Falkensteiner Premium Camping Zadar seaview restaurant, which serves local and internationally themed dishes from breakfast to evening – dinners usually accompanied by a rich sunset over the sea. A lounge bar serves snacks to have there or to take away. The resort also has free wifi, 24-hour security and clean modern amenities. A charging station is available for hybrid vehicles.

Liked Sehr schöne Stellplätze, nahe zu Allem, Sanitär Anlage ist sauber, Personal sehr freundlich. Supermarket , Restaurant mit Meerblick. Strand mit Sand und mit Kies.

Disliked Nur ein paar Sachen sind uns aufgefallen. Es fehlt neben dem Pool ein Stand, der Pommes Frites verkauft. Das haben viele Leite gesucht.

Liked Wir waren mittlerweile zum dritten Mal auf dem Campingplatz Falkensteiner und auf der Reise durch Kroatien haben wir immer wieder festgestellt, dass dieser der beste Platz ist. Sauber, schöne große Plätze und alles ist gut erreichbar und überschaubar gestaltet. Immer wieder gern.

Liked Ablution block and cleaning staff.Patience of receptionists. Left early but not charged. Close to Zadar.

Disliked Noise from other campers, from air condition units, smelly sea, and sea water not clear. Distance from sea misrepresented. Fairly expensive restaurant. WiFi kept dropping out.
Have stayed at other sites in Croatia that I believe were better value, cleaner and tidier, child friendly and good facilities and crystal clear sea water and which are equally deserving don’t have the awards. Oversold.

Disliked Estuvimos en la sala de máquinas con nuestro hijo de 9 años y tres de ellas no funcionaban. Nos tragaron el dinero fuimos a reclamarlo y no nos lo devolvieron.

Local attractions

Beaches and Zadar should occupy most of your time around here... alternate days at each is recommended, before sorting out some diving and island hopping trips around the Dalmatian coast... Even if it wasn’t only five minutes’ drive away, the city of Zadar is a must-see: the oldest continuously inhabited city in Croatia, it’s stuffed with history from Stone Age times onwards and has been hailed as the best tourist destination in all of Europe. You’ll need at least a few days, but absolute musts include the Roman forum (the biggest on the eastern side of the Adriatic), the Museum of Illusions and the Museum of Ancient Glass, 12th-century St. Anastasia’s Cathedral and the Roman and Venetian ruins around the peninsula of the Old Town… then the spectacular sounds of the Sea Organ made by tubes and sea waves. From Zadar, take a boat out to the islands of the Kornati National Park; if that whets your appetite for Croatian national parks (as it surely should…), arrange day trips to Krka National Park and the Plitvice Lakes National Park, an hour and an hour and 30 minutes away respectively.
