Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked It had toilets, a shower, and dish washing facilities. It wasn't packed, and everyone quietened down around 9.30/10. I was delivered some free fire wood which was great to roast some marshmallows on! Nice and close to the Forest of Dean, and Brecon Beacons for two days of adventures!

Disliked On first inspection, the shower looks tiny, but it's actually an alright size! However, I am a tall female, and if someone had came into the toilet area, they would have been able to see me in the shower, as it's a 'saloon' type door separating the two, so there's a large gap above the door. Luckily, no one didn't, but I would feel uncomfortable if they had, especially as it's a mixed gender toilet/bathroom area

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely open site with plenty of space to pitch up and have great time. The owner Dave, as stated by other reviewers is ace, polite, friendly and generous, giving away firewood at no extra charger and even some local strawberries 🍓as well.

The facilities were clean, so no competes for me.

Thank you

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked We've been to a few campsites since we had kids and this has been our favourite by far. Beautiful peaceful location, simple but well managed facilities and a genuinely friendly and helpful owner who makes everyone feel welcome. The firepits are great and the wood provided made it very easy to get a proper fire going. We were lucky enough to get clear skies so we're treated to a great view of the night sky. Will definitely be back!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Really lovely campsite. Nice and flat and open so no trouble finding a good pitch. Wasn't too busy when we went but would imagine it still to be nicely spaced when it is. Great location, quiet and peaceful. Amazing place to see the stars at night with little light pollution. Amenities also good. Fire pits were brilliant to have at each pitch. Most of all was the lovely owner who comes around with firewood and strawberries in the evening. So nice to have such a friendly person to make you feel welcome. Makes all the difference to a stay. This is a beautiful part of the world and a perfect campsite to enjoy it from. Highly recommended.

Local attractions

If you’ve brought the kids along (or just fancy cooing over cute animals), head to Raglan Farm Park (five minutes’ drive) to take tractor rides and bottle feed lambs. While you’re in town, stop by at Raglan Castle to see a grand structure dating back to the 15th century. Scenic strolls and scrambles galore await over in the Brecon Beacons National Park (20 minutes). This gorgeous area of hills, mountains and waterfalls can cater for all styles of walker from those looking for simple circular routes to folk who fancy more challenging uphill ascents. There are other options too, like watersports at Llangorse Lake (45 minutes) and gentle pottering in the likes of Crickhowell (25 minutes). Turn east instead and more stunning scenery awaits: this is where the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty lies. Head to Symonds Yat (20 minutes) to hire canoes to paddle down the river or head to the Forest of Dean for its sculpture trail and Puzzlewood (both half an hour).
