  • Family-run site in a central location on the Isle of Anglesey
  • Five minutes' drive from Llangefni; beaches within 15 minutes
  • Secure play area and dog park on site; nature reserve next door
It’s hard to say which part of Anglesey is the best – it’s a very scenic place, and pretty much the entire island is worth visiting. If you’d like to take in as much as possible, it’s a sensible move to choose a central location like that of Bryn Hyfryd Campsite. This family-run site is surrounded by open countryside about five minutes’ drive from the central Anglesey village of Llangefni (a handy place to find shops, pubs, cafés, takeaways and the like). The Dingle nature reserve – with a lake, reservoir and wildlife to see – is just next to the site, and there’s access to footpaths and cycling trails nearby for local exploring. When you’re ready to head out to other parts of the island, you’ll have choices in every direction. Nothing’s too far away when you’re staying at this site – even the furthest points, such as Cemaes Bay (west) and Penmon (east), are about half an hour’s drive away. That puts all sorts of outings within reach, whether you fancy finding a sandy beach, taking a walk along the coast path, visiting a castle or taking the kids to one of the island’s family attractions. Speaking of the kids, you’ll be able to keep them busy on site at the secure play area. Dogs are welcome on site as well, and have another secure, fenced area where they can run around and play freely. Other facilities on the family-friendly site include an open-air washing-up area and five wetroom-style showers with toilets and sinks (appropriate footwear is recommended), as well as one accessible toilet and shower room.

What customers say

This is a quiet, clean, and well-maintained campsite with spacious pitches and friendly, helpful owners. It's praised for its beautiful rural location with easy access to reservoir walks and scenic spots across Anglesey. Facilities, including showers, are generally clean, though some note a lack of hot water for washing up and basic shower temperature controls. The children's play area and dog exercise field are popular. Some reviews mention the site can be basic, but overall guests find it good value and would recommend it.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Amazing location, site was clean and tidy with dog field, playground and path linking to the lake path. Toilets and showers were fine, again clean and perfectly functional, and pitch had a picnic table, really appreciated that. Good job all round by the hosts, thank you

Disliked Just not enough washing up stations, one for the entire site is just a let down to everything else so well done, hard to explain that shortcoming. Not sure there was WiFi?

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Everything you want from a basic family campsite: shower, toilet, washing up sink, drinking water, little play equipment, little walk into pine plantation nearby.

Disliked Noisy neighbours, packed in quite close, but friendly too.

Liked Beautiful site that was clean and well maintained. Liked that it was not overcrowded and each pitch had plenty of room with lovely views. Great walk from the campsite around the reservoir and easy access by vehicle to lots of places.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked The location is fabulous, ideal for exploring the whole of Anglesey, everything was within 40 mins for us by car.
Very spacious motorhome pitches.
After 10.00 there was no noise.
The very clean toilet facilities, and always had hot showers,( the owners can’t help it when the public don’t clean up after themselves, children were the worse culprits ).
Fantastic traffic free cycle path to Newborough Beach is very close by.

Disliked The washing up area only had 1 sink and had no cover over it.
First impressions bathroom facilities were in need of updating, however they were always cleaned well, and serviceable.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked How quiet and clean the site was including the shower facilities

Disliked My only gripe would be the washing up facilities were not under a cover or shelter and there was only 1 sink. When someone is waiting behind you you feel the need to rush

Electric grass tent pitch

Local attractions

As Anglesey is an island, it’s got a lot of coastline to explore – 130 miles, in fact, with a coast path running all the way along the edge for those that like long seaside walks. Along the coast, some of the top spots to seek out are Beaumaris Castle (25 minutes’ drive), South Stack Lighthouse (half an hour) and the gorgeous Ynys Llanddwyn (half an hour), an atmospheric tidal island dedicated to Wales’ patron saint of love. There are beaches galore, too – sandy Benllech (15 minutes) and Rhosneigr (20 minutes) are great for family days out, Trearddur Bay (20 minutes) is a top spot for watersports, and Porth Wen (25 minutes) has some intriguing industrial ruins to explore. Don’t neglect the inland areas though – Parys Mountain Copper Mine (15 minutes) is a particularly fine place for a walk, with trails running through the colourful landscape of a former copper mine. You might also like to see what’s on at Anglesey Showground (five minutes) – as well as major events, it hosts a car boot sale most Sundays.
