If you’re planning to try out the Torrent Walk during your trip to Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, then this is the place to stay for easy access – Torrent Walk Bunkhouse is a mere 500 metres from the trailhead, so you can be among the first out on the trail in the morning, or just a short walk from your accommodation when you’re done for the day.
And that lovely riverside trail isn’t the only option for walkers around here, as this site is also within easy reach of other popular spots including the Precipice Walk, Cregennan Lakes and the trails up Penygader (Cadair Idris). For other adventures, it’s a short drive to the mountain bike trails of Coed-y-Brenin and Dyfi Bike Park, or you can travel a little further to the various activities of Zip World Llechwedd. Meanwhile, more leisurely days might take you to the likes of Harlech Castle or the beach at Barmouth.
However you choose to spend your time, you’ll be coming back to a comfy bed in the bunkhouse, in bedrooms sleeping up to six people – although each room is private use only, so you won’t be sharing with strangers. Bedrooms are heated and have bedding provided, but you’ll need to bring your own towels.
Handy facilities here include a kitchen (with cooking equipment for hire), a barbecue area, a laundry room, mobile charging facilities and bathrooms with toilets and showers (including disabled-access facilities). Outside, a bike wash may be useful for post-trail cleanups, and staff are happy to store bikes when needed. You can buy logs on site to create a blaze at the campfire area, and pick up other supplies at the nearby shop (five minutes’ walk) or in Dolgellau (five minutes’ drive).
